Unabridged Audiobook
A good primer for how the different Americans think so differently.
Strong & well-defended premise, covering US history from revolution to current times.
The first about 2/3rds of the book is great. All historical fact. After that it becomes mostly the political leanings of the author, who is clearly a “Yankee” as he would describe in the book, demonstrating clear Yankee cultural traits in the latter 1/3. I still heavily recommend the book for that first bit which is very eye-opening, but make sure to go in with an understanding of the authors bent prior to the last 1/3. It is a shame the author didn’t keep an unbiased view until the end, this could have been one of the most revealing books of our generation. The narration is phenomenal. No complaints at all.
The fact filled historical premise was very convincing. I was wondering why the Epilogue would even “wonder” how the country may look in the next 1-hundred years. Since the Nations have stayed intact this long, I’d think it would be a good bet they’d stay that way. At least 12 hours of the book would agree. Enjoyed the book very much, just puzzling Epilogue.
