Summary
Hannah Payne awakens to a nightmare. She is lying on a table in a bare room, covered only by a paper gown, with cameras broadcasting her every move to millions at home. She is now a convicted criminal, and her skin color has been genetically altered. Her crime, according to the State of Texas: the murder of her unborn child, whose father she refuses to name. Her color: red. The color of newly shed blood.  In Hannah's America, sometime in the future, faith, love, and sexuality have fallen prey to politics. Convicted felons are no longer imprisoned and rehabilitated, but “chromed,” forced to appear in a new and sinister form of reality TV, and released back into the population. Stigmatized in a hostile world, they must survive the best they can.  Until her arrest, Hannah had devoted her life to church and family. In seeking a path to safety, she is forced to question the values she once held true and the righteousness of a country that politicizes the personal.

I was good. the narrator was what kept me interested in it. the ending was horrible. You would think there has to be a good ending but there I only 10 minutes left. and it was like you only have three more pieces of paper to write on so here it is. bad. I liked the Narrator though.

The book was not what I expected, but it was still enjoyable. I loved the narration! The writer paints a clear picture so you feel like you are there. A lot of the situations feel like they related to things that could actually happen down the road given the issues in our government. I defiantly enjoyed this book and would recommend it!

Not the type of book I normally read. But I have to admit to being quickly hooked...especially with the skill level of the narrator. Really, if you want something different, that hits at everything inside you...well...this book has it all. Hana is an amazing innocent yet guilty young woman, I felt for her situation from start to finish. This book was well worth my time....and did not let me down. I have to agree with other comments....this book begs a sequel.

A tale for our times with the "Right Wing" in charge, but that is not why I gave this fast-paced and otherwise excellent read only four stars. The last part of the book seemed awkward and a bit too pie-in-the-sky. I am not going to go into spoilers. Although the relationships could have been real, more character development was needed to make the ending head home. A happy surprise awaited Hannah at the end, but a little more explanation was needed than was given. The book begs for a sequel if no more info is forthcoming.
