Excellent book. Would love to go visit the setting of this book. Wish times now were like they were back then. People had so much more class and breeding.

I loved the book. It is really a great read. I do not like having the interruption of the chapters and the changing of narrators. It would be nice to hear it all the way through with the same narrator.

Loved the book! Wonderful writing but hate when it has multiple readers. Most were decent but a few were terrible.

very good book it made me feel like its one of the best books I have ever heard.

Anne now is the teacher of the Avonlea School. But still a girl in her late teens. For some reason, the book is not as exciting as the first one. I think it shows her growth in relationships. She and Marilla grow into more of an adult relationship. A new, grouchy neighbour becomes her good friend; Anne builds a variety of relationships with the children and the parents in the school; twins distantly related to Marilla come to live at Green Gables; and she meets a ‘kindred spirit’ - a middle age lady living in a stone cottage in the woods. Furthermore, she and the other ‘nearly adults ‘ start an Improvers club, their relationship to the community changes as they begin looking around the Avonlea area to see ways they can improve the neighbourhood. This involves canvassing, so that they have to find ways to meet and convince people they haven’t engaged with previously. But the older people eventually begin to see their area differently because of the influence of the young people. Anne and Gilbert’s friendship grows as they study and spend time together, although the topic isn’t mentioned to very often. Still, Anne’s relationships with the characters of the flora and fauna of her precious Avonlea have not lessened, but have become deeper in a personal way. The readers were mostly fine, but for some, the recording set up could have been a great deal better.

Very sweet story

The second narrator was much better than the first. The first one drive me crazy.

Sweet sweet story - do not enjoy the various narrators. Some good some horrible some with background noises that distract. But sweet story.

The narrator kept changing and we didn’t like some. The quality wasn’t always the greatest. The book is amazing!!! It is my favorite series and I am glad to share it with my daughter.

The narration should always be a young person I believe. I think the older mature voice will turn young readers off. I am enjoying this series.

Different narrators were annoying but good book

This is a LibriVox audio book, It’s well done, but these recordings usually do an introduction at each chapter which is disrupting. Story is wonderful as are all of the books in this series. Recommended.

The story is great, as with all Anne’s books, but I was quite disappointed with a few of the narrators who could hardly hold my attention, their voices being empty of energy

Enjoyed the book but didn’t like the continues change of narration found it spoilt the characters

I love the book, but there were so many different narrators! There were many mispronounced words. One narrator tried to create voices for the characters and made it difficult to understand what she was saying. Another narrator periodically went into a semi-Southern drawl at times.

Enjoyed the book but did not appreciate the multiple readers. Some were good and others awful.

Karen Savage has a wonderful voice and does the story telling great justice. She very well suited to be reading this story

One or two chapters of the narration were a little tricky to listen to, but most of it was great. The majority I think done by one narrator who reads very well. She's very listenable. Lovely story, I enjoyed it very much.
