Bernard Cornwell has a unique gift in relating the social-political and environmental conditions that have been part of Britain's most famous battles. Mixed around the historical events are clever images of life from various perspectives. And then the quest for relics is always a plus to any story. Mr. Cornwell adds just the right amount of mystery to keep you on the edge of your seat.
The narrator Tim Pigott-Smith does an outstanding job. He does a variety of British and French accents, and keeps them all straight. He helps bring the story alive, and is a pleasure to listen too.
