Summary
Based on the actual events of the years 1367- 1382 the novel shows the struggle for the crown through the eyes of a young warrior.
Blood on the Crown is set in the latter half of the fourteenth century. Will, son of Harry, is about to join one of the freebooting mercenaries who serve the Black Prince in Gascony and Spain. Soldiers of fortune they fight for pay and for loot. Circumstances mean that he comes to the attention of the heir to the English throne, Prince Edward and is chosen as the bodyguard for his sons, Edward and Richard. When the Black Prince dies before his father and his elder brother Edward also dies, a young Richard of Bordeaux becomes heir to the throne and Will has a greater responsibility than he expected. He becomes King at the age of just ten. Intrigue, attempted murder and a revolt by the peasants of Kent, Essex and London put both the young King and his bodyguard in mortal danger.

Blood on the crown is a very popular historical novel . I already read it . This time , it's my great experience to listening it. Thanks to Mr Hosker for writing a great novel and obviously narrator done it perfectly. Voice is much clear , background music played in perfect manner. Storyline was based on the medieval era. Both Edward and Richard depicted very well. I will recommend it to every audiobook listener.

In some ways slow to start for me. However, all the character building becomes integral. It was difficult to stop listening to the last half of the book. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

This is a good story and turned out to be a page turner. I loved the characters. Truth be told, in my opinion, this book falls in the realm of Pillers of the earth.

This was my first read of a Griff Hosker novel, and what a pleasant surprise! The story was extremely well developed and well-paced. The main character, Will, so of Harry, was a hero to be admired. Not only was he an almost super human fighter, but he was also at times a humane gentleman in the true sense of the word. To round all of this off, the narrator, Marston York, was way beyond superb.

Didn't love this book as much as I expected, seemed slow and repetitive for first third. Then finally as it got going it ended which is why I will probably get the second book.

This novel is a great story that follows an incredibly likable main character as he navigates the battlefield and his life. There is plenty of fighting but seeing how Will handles himself with the other soldiers, his father, and the royals is just as interesting. I will definitely be picking up the rest of this series. The narrator did a phenomenal job.

Not quite Bernard Cornwall but good enough. Enjoyable, fast paced. I will be reading more of his books.
