Summary
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From the author of Star Wars: Lost Stars comes a thrilling novel set in the years before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“Unmissable . . . Bloodline’s tense politics, vivid new characters, and perfectly characterized Leia make it feel as central to the Star Wars universe as one of the films.”—Tordotcom

WITNESS THE BIRTH OF THE RESISTANCE

When the Rebellion defeated the Empire in the skies above Endor, Leia Organa believed it was the beginning to a lasting peace. But after decades of vicious infighting and partisan gridlock in the New Republic Senate, that hope seems like a distant memory.

Now a respected senator, Leia must grapple with the dangers that threaten to cripple the fledgling democracy—from both within and without. Underworld kingpins, treacherous politicians, and Imperial loyalists are sowing chaos in the galaxy. Desperate to take action, senators are calling for the election of a First Senator. It is their hope that this influential post will bring strong leadership to a divided galaxy.

As the daughter of Darth Vader, Leia faces with distrust the prospect of any one person holding such a powerful position—even when supporters suggest Leia herself for the job. But a new enemy may make this path Leia’s only option. For at the edges of the galaxy, a mysterious threat is growing. . . .

Praise for Bloodline

“[Claudia] Gray paints a much more complete galaxy than we often get to see on the big screen. . . . Knowing that Rian Johnson (writer, director of Star Wars: Episode VIII) had some creative input on the novel provides hope that we haven’t seen the last of all of these wonderful characters. . . . Star Wars: Bloodline isn’t just a great Star Wars book, or a great Leia book, or a great book; it’s a great introduction into the larger world of Star Wars in general.”—ComicBookdotcom

“Bloodline is a nonstop page-turner that grabs at heartstrings that you weren’t aware of and yanks down on every one of them. The story is loaded with context for The Force Awakens that plants the seeds for The First Order in perfectly haunting ways, and leaves the reader grasping for more details on newly discovered favorite characters.”—Inverse

Good book. Interesting things about the political landscape of the galaxy before and during The Force Awakens are learned.

It's a pretty good book. But since I'm not a fan of the Sequel Trilogy and some of the Disney Canon books. Some of the story plots fell flat for me. But it is written well, and I enjoy the authors works.

I am a huge Star Wars fan and I loved this book. The story focuses more on the political side of the Star Wars universe and excellently told the story of what happened between ROTJ & TFA movies. There are several action sequences also. The reading was done very well but with one small complaint- some of the “male voices” that were done, were on the humorous side. Sounded like a surfer dude trying to do a deep voice. I also would have enjoyed more background noises/ sound effects- but there were several areas of the book where this was done well. Overall, this is a great audio book and well worth the listen. May the force be with you.

This was a very entertaining book. I liked the characters, both new and old. I really liked the narrator’s voice as well and the theatrical touch with the sounds and the music. Definitely worth a listen.

Can't defend that the pacing is rather dry for maybe the first third. But the ending is well executed

a sound story no real reveals but what can you expect from Lucas Films Han Solo was depicted very poorly though narration average Studio production could have been a little better

This book was absolutely wonderful! The narration with the sound effects makes the book more interesting and engage able. Princess Leia has always been a big hero to me, so it was nice to get a feeling of how she works on a day to day basis and tries to be three steps ahead of people. I am just beginning my journey on the Star Wars adventures outside of the movies and I think this was a nice way to keep my interest peeked to learn more about the vast galaxies.

Great book with good narration even 3po sounds a little off. Ok alot off but don't let that stop you from getting it. Hes about .05% of the book. Really interesting political thriller. Game of thrones meets star wars.

It was a good book and definitely clears up a lot of info about how the resistance was formed! It was also a fun story about Princess Leia and what's going on with her after the empire falls. Han Solo makes an appearance for awhile, and while we don't hear from Luke or Ben we do hear about Leia's attempts to contact them. Overall it's a good addition to the new canon books in the Star Wars universe. Also the narrator did a great job as well, and the sound effects added a lot to the atmosphere of the scenes rather than drown it out.

Well executed book, interesting story, and great narration. Really made the intense parts that much more exciting. Well produced, a lot of effects and background music. Even with effects tho c3po was just really bad.

AMAZING BOOK from a person that really gets Star Wars, This is the 2nd adventure @ClaudiaGray has taken me on following Lost Stars. Unlike some others, I really enjoy Star Wars Politics and is one of the things that separates it from other lesser Fantasy/Sci-Fi series. It let you understand how Palpatine came to power over both Anakin and the Galaxy. Like Frank Herbert, Claudia Gray lets you understand the entire picture from a Galactic Level down to a small girl on a planet learning what she wants to do for the rest of her live. January did a great job with almost all of the voices she did, but C3PO was not enjoyable in EVERY audio book I have he seems to be nailed down very well, but he was not good when done by January or whomever voiced this part. Leia and all female voices however were PERFECT, each sounded very distinct and did not lose any of the uniqueness as the story carried on. I still give it a 5 for narration because she did such a great job on all female and most male roles. I will listen to this again.
