Summary
One hundred years ago, a sheriff's posse killed dark warlock Rhyfel Gremory, but his witch-disciples escaped, and their magic made them nearly immortal. To keep their power, each year one of the witch-disciples kills a descendant of one of the men in the posse, a twelve-year cycle that has cost dozens of lives, including that of Seth Tanner's brother, Jesse.

Seth uncovers a cycle of ritual murders that feed the witch-disciples' power, and he saves Evan Malone, one of the warlock's potential victims. Neither Seth nor Evan expected to fall in love, but when the dust settles, they find themselves on the run and on the road together, heading toward Pittsburgh, on the trail of the next killer.

Seth wonders whether Evan will come to regret his choice to stay together, now that he's living the reality of Seth's nomadic life and the risks that come with it. He wants Evan to stay, but he's afraid that Evan would be better off without him, living a normal life. Evan's whole world has been upended, but there's one thing he's sure of, his love for Seth. Evan worries that he's a liability, not yet able to hold his own in Seth's rough-and-tumble world, but determined to do whatever necessary to have Seth's back. On the way to face the next warlock, supernatural threats abound, forcing them to learn to fight as a team.

This is a great follow up novella to Witchbane. The supernatural hunting continues as Seth and Evan take on a few small jobs which help Evan learn the ropes and Seth learn to work with a partner. Most of the book focuses on Evan and Seth’s feelings for each other though, as well as their uncertainties about being enough for the other. Lovely to see more of their emotions and to see the two of them grow as a couple. Really enjoyable novella! Kale Williams did an amazing job of narrating this book and he’s quickly becoming one of my favourite narrators. I received an arc of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review

This story has it all - a riveting supernatural story, great complementary fighting skills between Seth and Evan, and plenty of smoking hot chemistry and sex. I love this series and can't wait for more in the journey. Audiobooks are the way to go in this series. The narration is fantastic and gives you a wonderful flavor for the suspense and danger Seth and Evan face...and the steamy times too.^^ I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook from the author and have voluntarily left this honest review.

This was a nice quick follow up to the first book. This is a half book because it doesn't really involve much of the main disciples hunting, but it was a great addition to the series. We got to see Ethan and Seth get to know each other much better and find a way for them to work, live, and love together now that the initial case was over. There was a lot of me wanting to yell at them for lack of communication, but they were just learning to find their way together. They eventually got there and they will be stronger together as they move forward. I liked getting to see this glimpse of their relationship outside of the big case. This is continuation after the first book with Seth and Evan. Morgan Brice has made such an amazing world. I just love that this might be a short short it didn't skip on the action and suspense. I also love they are still developing their relationship both in romance and working together. The Kale Williams does an amazing job to bring life to this story. I love how he voices the characters and bring the emotions.

In this addition, we are not actually fighting any disciples, we have some things that go bump in the night to get rid of. Both of our guys are still so unsure of their feelings & thinking the other doesn't really want them. The ex's did numbers on both of them. They are really struggling to trust each other. They are making some of the same mistakes as they did in the past. The biggest one is communication!! And stop assuming that the other person is feeling one way when they only feel another. They do have some close calls in this one and also interactions w/other hunter's in the network. I'm glad that they do finally have an honest conversation & work things out. I really enjoy this series. Audio ARC provided by LesCourt in exchange for an honest review.

If you follow my audiobook reviews, you know that I wasn't completely in love with Witchbane, Book 1 in the Witchbane series. Burn, even though a novella, was better, and I found myself really getting into the story. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series now and have already downloaded the next book. Let's get into the review. Story: 4 Stars I'm going to be honest with you, I wasn't expecting much. This was Witchbane and a short novella, but I was proven wrong. The book put Seth and Evan more on an even playing ground, although, Seth has some issues and needs to get over them. This time though, the banter and interaction was enjoyable instead of borderline annoying. I liked this addition to the story and am really looking forward to the rest of the series. Great interaction, great characters, and I loved the action in this one. 4 stars! Narration: 4.5 stars Kale Williams is back for Burn, and once again, he has made the characters his. The pace was good and steady, and each character was made an individual with the different voices and annunciation. I thoroughly enjoyed his version of this book. 4.5 stars! Overall: 4 Stars Loved this book, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series. Because I liked Burn so much, I have already downloaded the next book in the series. Leery at first, Morgan Brice blew me away, and I'm thinking as this series goes on, I'll find myself enjoying it more and more. The characters have grown on me and I want to see what happens next. I couldn't stop listening. Overall, 4 stars!

I was given this book for review by request for my unbiased opinion. This is actually a great listen. The narration is great and I love that he has very distinctive voices for each character and his spacing is very good. It flows as if I am looking at a movie. The book itself is well written. I have not read the series that this book came from but I did find it was easy to follow. I will actually get the rest of the series because it seems like a good one to get into.

I really enjoyed this book. although it's part of a series I haven't read, it was still easy to follow. The relationship developed really well and there were plenty of things that go bump in the night to fight. it was sweet, sexy and hot all at the same time. the narrator was new to be but I'll be searching him out now. His narration was really smooth and easy to listen to and his voice was lovely and rich. I'll be going back to find the series now.

Seth and Evan are living together in a trailer, Evan is being trained and they are hunting together. It should be okay, right? Wrong! Both of them have fears and insecurities, and they are not talking about them, so... yes, you can see how this won't be a fluffy interlude, and that there will be angst ahead :P Even when this is a short story, a novella, there is a lot of character development, and you learn a lot about these guys while the story is still advancing the main arc about finding the ancestors in danger. There is a lot of action and thrilling moments, but humorous ones, too. And I still love Evan and Seth :D The narration by Kale Williams is good. I received an ARC of this audiobook, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

4.5 Stars! I said it with book 1, Witchbane, which needs to be listened to first, btw, and it's still true with Burn, listening to this story was like stepping into an episode of Supernatural. It was witty, fun, fast-paced, sexy and action-packed, with some scary elements thrown in for good measure. It was a great addition to the series allowing us to see Evan and Seth navigate their relationship now that they decided to give it a go and see where it takes them. Of course, it's not easy, seeing as they have to work through normal relationship issues and hunting for paranormal beings and training Evan for the job all while trying to remain alive. Ms. Brice managed to recapture the scorching chemistry between Seth and Evan and give us a deeper view into each of their characters. It will be interesting to see more of them as their relationship grows. Kale Williams did a great job with Evan and Seth and keeping the pace with everything happening in the story (and there was a lot happening!). And his voice and performance always makes for an enjoyable experience all-around.
