Unabridged Audiobook
Loved this book. Definitely kept it weird.
I really liked this book! Not just because I’m a lover of Morbid or Alaina, but because I thought the story was great. I’m sad to see it getting such bad reviews! Especially after finishing “All Good People Here” and being pretty disappointed in that. I though Alaina did a great job with her debut novel! Although some pieces were pretty intense, I found it captivating.
very easy read. captivating for sure.
Predictable nonsense
can't wait for the next book
I wasn't a fan of the narration, but then I realized it's the writing that's bad. I think the story concept is interesting though it gets lost in the unnecessarily long sentences and I felt no connect to the characters. Found myself not even paying attention at points and not even caring enough to rewind because I wanted it to be over.
Love this book! Can't wait for part two!
Loved this book from the opening lines. I was curious about the book as a sometimes Morbid listener and it does not disappoint. I am sure we will be getting more books from Alaina in the future.
Very good read
Such a good book!! I couldn't stop listening, I can't wait for another one!!
This book had me soooo hooked. Right to the end! I have been a Morbid fan for a couple of years now, so of course, I had to check out Alaina's book. I am so happy that it did! I've recommended it to my friends and family!
Love! Can’t wait for her next books!
I really enjoyed this, can’t wait for the next one. I very much enjoyed the narrators voices!
As a huge fan of Morbid, I am glad I was able to listen to the audiobook since it's hard for me to find time to read anymore! I loved it and especially enjoyed the back and forth narration (also for those saying they didn't like the ending, I think it becomes obvious that there will be other books in this series).
I love how this book switches between narration/perspective throughout the chapters. It kept the story very interesting!
I think the read is worth it, however, there are some negatives, for me, the constant bouncing of timelines made the buildup to the ending a bit hard to follow, the “descriptions” of the music felt self insert-y and almost like a light fan fiction of some sort. Regardless, I do think the book paints a pleasing picture of the environment and atmosphere that you can watch in your mind as you listen and read.
Skip the cheesy dedications.. I lost interest there..
Highly recommend! Fantastic book! Kept me on edge throughout!
3rd audiobook. Ranking best to blah- 1.Fairy Tale 2.Where the Crawdads Sing 3.Butcher and the Wren
This far exceeded my expectations, and those expectations were already high. While listening I constantly forgot I was listening to a book because every description had painted vivid imagery as well as encapsulating every sense. Alaina, please write more while I go purchase a hard copy.
Y'allllllllllll!!!!! Get
It took a min to get used to such descriptive writing but once I was it made for a much more enjoyable and gruesome listen. I was able to really picture what was going on and, even with a book like this, it was perfect.
Very engaging listen, the sensory details put in to certain chapters in this book make you FEEL the anxiety trying to be portrayed. I got the audio book and the physical copy. Hats of to Alaina and her support team, and the wonderful narrators, Sophie and Joe. The twists and turns kept my interest the whole way, and there are a couple of surprises you will NOT see coming... Can't wait for the next project! Keep it weird ❤️❤️
I cannot wait for the next one! what a great listen!
Yassss Alaina!!!!! Sooooo good, what a twist. You’re amazing queen
Definitely like candy, and I was excited for it just because I've been listening to Morbid for years and feel like my friend Alaina wrote a book. Without that context, it'd be another passable page-turner. It was well-plotted and had a couple of scenes that literally gave me chills.
What a thrilling ride listening to this book. The amount of suspense was almost too much to handle. Well done!!!
5 stars isn’t enough stars! Beautifully, morbidly written.
