Unabridged Audiobook
Now I know why this book has been so popular for so many years. Well worth the read. I remember reading a book back at school from the animals viewpoint and got badly put off but you'd is excellent.
Great story. Interesting and insightful. Tells a great story of a dog that went from tamed to wild. And the struggles within
Good book!
Written from the viewpoint of Buck, the dog, nobody delves into the canine mind better than Jack London during a time when Yukon gold lured men into the frozen northwest. Exceptional tale.
A great story and the reader made it fun and even more interesting.
It's clear why this book is regarded as a classic. I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, in my opinion the narration wasn't of the same level and didn't fall and rise as Buck's (central dog character) journey did.
I love this book so much and I don’t know if there’s a movie about it
Loved the book, and the narration was good. Thankyou so much for the free audio book.
Highly recommended, and so glad I have now 'read' this great classic. The narrator was excellent, and something in me was deeply touched changed by listening and feeling into Buck.
Great book. The narrator did a very fine job--one of the best narrators I've heard.
Loved this book AND the narrator! My first attempt at audiobooks.... already enjoying another one!
Great book. Great Narrator. I enjoyed it very much.
Excellent! Narrator- excellent. I enjoyed this audio book so much that I listened to it twice.
The narrator did a great job. This story was beautifully written and held our attention until the end. I'm not giving any spoilers, it is definitely worth the listen.
Excellent classic
What a mad lad
leave it to Jack London to write an amazing story about dogs and wolves
very violent! I hated it
I loved this book, its a fantastic read,i can highly recommend. Jack London was a brilliant author...The icing on the cake was the narration,, some books are spoilt because of the readers, but not this one he was spot on.i hope i can listen to more books that he narrates
It’s been many, many years since I’ve read this story. I’d forgotten why the purpose of the tale Jack London wrote is so meaningful. Call of the Wild should be required reading for high school or college students. Michael Scott is the only narrator who could do this timeless piece proper justice.
Great book! The narrator did a good job as well. Recommend! A
Enjoyed this book! Thanks, Jim.
Reminds me of Togo movie
This book I amazing I love it I think that everyone should read it
it was a great book
Very well read
It was awesome even at the start it was Good and theres a new movie. 9-26-2020
Por algum motivo os livros de Jack London não me prendem, mas o narrador é muito bom.
Very good. I read this in one sitting and enjoyed every minute of the book
good book for all ages
The narration gave this tale a depth of character. It's well told and an extraordinary story. A great bed time listen.
Great listen. A real classic.
First rate art of storytelling- gripping, emotionally charged. Imagery never leaves you. Jack London, great writer - audio book is beautifully interpretive of original writing.
The beauty and the harshness of this story made it hard to put down. Its imagery continues to stay with me weeks after I finished it.
Great to re-listen to Call of the Wild. It's a compelling story told from the animals point of view. Excellent narrator! Highly recommend.
Forgot how powerful and beautifully written this story was. I had read the book in college so it was good to re-read or should I say listen to.
Excellent and gripping!
Loved this book
Fantastic book
Great (if quite harrowing) story, the reader sounds like a professional
one of the best books ever. makes you mad happy and want to cry but gives you the feeling in the wild.
great book similar to White Fang also by Jack London. the narration is fine. better then the other free version of this book which switches narrators several times and is a bit distracting.
What a great book!! Wonderful!! Loved it! I already knew the story, read it when I was a kid. It was lovely to revisit it and accompany Buck throughout his life, how he adapts and evolves to thrive. Marvellous descriptions, it feels as if we are inside the book! The narration is brilliant, the tone , the rhythm !
I really like this book oh my God I just got to reading old pioneer by Willa Carter it was nowhere exciting as The call of the wild I got my probably because I'm an animal lover and I fell in love with the dog from that moment that he was introduced I really liked it because they were talking as if the dog was talking and I never read a book where the animals share his thoughts on all levels in all things he knew right from wrong good for bad all the stuff that's good and evil good people bad people he know when to submit and he know when not to submit but ultimately he went back from one to come from cuz all dogs originated from the world
I am a dog person, so I thought I might like this. It is an interesting premise that never reaches its potential due to the lackluster, obvious writing of the author. Somewhat predictable, parts of the book drag. I still found it intriguing enough to finish and had some emotional attachment to the main character. The narrator was ok.
I had somehow never read this story. London truly gets into the mind of a dog and it’s both triumphant yet tragic along the way. Great narrator.
loved it I even shed a tear
Well worth the time spent. Classic story. Very good narrator. One of those books that many of my peers read in school but I did not for some reason. And it’s free
I loved it. I was cheering in my mind!!!!
Not really my type of book hence only 4 stars as I never finished it
Great story told from a dog’s perspective. I thought the narrator did an excellent job!
I think I enjoyed it more as a child. I got to admit with the names of all the dogs and people, I got mixed up on wether it was a dog or human speaking or being spoken about, but that could just be me, a whole lot of names get thrown at you. Cool story though. Glad it was short
Great story.
I enjoyed reader and story line. I recall book. I had to do a book report , year's ago
A good listen.
This classic was expertly narrated & an easy listen. Highly recommend for preadolescents thru the golden years!
I really enjoyed this book. The story really keeps you engaged and the narrator was great, easy to understand and follow the dialog between different characters. Would recommend
I found the book to be very enjoyable. The story was interesting from the beginning, easy to follow and a nice length. I recommend this book as a very pleasant pleasant read.
Very pleasant listening.
I loved the audio. I had read the book before in print but wanted to hear the audio. Well done.
Hey, Jack London, what’s not to like? I thought the narrator did an excellent job and only had one (to my knowledge) Northern town name mispronounced.
I loved it. Both content and narrator held my interest. This book brings raw emotion to the forefront showing the good and evil of mankind, which gives pause to who are the real animals. I found it to be heart wrenching at times. Great Book. The narrator did an excellent read clear and concise , I will definitely follow him too
Just a clasic. If you haven't yet, this is a must listen.
Truly a masterpiece but an agonizing read for a dog lover like me.
This book made me want a s sled dog I live this book a lot
this story is a classic, it was mandatory reading back in school. It was a lot of fun to revisit
Such a great adventure story that shows the cruelty and arrogance of man and the perspective of animals. I thoroughly enjoyed the clear and pleasant sounding narration.
Good, bit different to what I normally listen to but enjoyed it.
excellent
I loved this
if you love the idea of knowing what a sledding dog might be feeling this book is for you
Loved it. Narrator knew the story and new how to enthral.
this book is in the kids book section it is way too violent to be a kids book
Good story, of course, but the pronunciations of the narrator need to be checked. I was almost ready to turn it off after he said ‘primordial’ wrong for the 3rd time.
