Unabridged Audiobook
Alison Weir is unfairly overlooked as a writer of historical fiction. Unlike the more popular Gregory, Weir grounds her stories in actual history and brings these historical periods vividly to life. (Don't mistake me, I have enjoyed several Gregory books, but her "history" is pure schlock). Weir tells the story of this fascinating woman who some may know from the play/movie "The Lion in Winter" and as the mother of Richard the Lionheart. Anyone interested in the Plantaganet history and Eleanor herself will find this a wonderful read.
A good book, with good narrating. I enjoyed it.
