Summary
In this newly revised edition of The Case for Trump, award-winning historian and political commentator Victor Davis Hanson explains how a celebrity businessman with no political or military experience triumphed over sixteen well-qualified Republican rivals, a Democrat with a quarter-billion-dollar war chest, and a hostile media and Washington establishment to become president of the United States -- and an extremely successful president.
Trump alone saw a political opportunity in defending the working people of America's interior whom the coastal elite of both parties had come to scorn, Hanson argues. And Trump alone had the instincts and energy to pursue this opening to victory, dismantle a corrupt old order, and bring long-overdue policy changes at home and abroad. We could not survive a series of presidencies as volatile as Trump's. But after decades of drift, America needs the outsider Trump to do what normal politicians would not and could not do.

ilts difficullt to narrate non fiction. hanson m7st have an eidetoc memory for all that information. thing is, the book for me, was a case for hanson, not.trump. it was lefthanded at best re any admiration fpr trump, and it didnt go anywhere. i kept fallung asleep, and didnt seem to miss a thing.. trump ia NOT a tragic hero. hanson desperately wants him to be. the tragedy os our cpuntry. not trump. trump is having the time of his life just being trump. he may be tragic to hanson, but hanson is a gloomy gus. trump, since the book's publication, continues heroically. the more spite and xrookedness, the more trump likws it. god forbid anytging happens to him... is trump heroic? yes. is he tragic? not in the slightest. .hanson watches john wayne movies. if i may say, mcclintock is far better suited to donald trump than tom doniphan (sp). the book was aboyt hanson, morw than trump. gloom and doom,, a critique by miss manners. have fun! trump is. he gets it. all of it. its who he is, and hes his own person. hes serious when he needs to be !nd a buffoon when hw doesnt. this book, if i may say, is stuffy, erudite, and written by a stuffy old snob. hanson is better than this.

While this book was logical and well executed it was not as good as I thought it would be. I always enjoy the author in interviews but for me something was missing from this book. It was a very thorough book and provided an excellent postmortem on the ‘how’ of how Trump Ascended to the presidency.
