Summary
The planet Lusitania is home to three sentient species: the Pequeninos, a large colony of humans, and the Hive Queen, who was brought there by Ender Wiggin. But now, once again, the human race has grown fearful; the Starways Congress has gathered a fleet to destroy Lusitania. Ender's oldest friend, Jane, an evolved computer intelligence, can save the three sentient species of Lusitania. She has learned how to move ships outside the universe, and then instantly back to a different world, abolishing the light-speed limit. But it takes all the processing power available to her, and the Starways Congress is shutting down the network of computers in which she lives, world by world.

Soon Jane will not be able to move the ships. Ender's children must save her if they are to save themselves.

Children of the Mind is the fourth book in Orson Scott Card's The Ender Saga.

Fantastic book. Great end to a great series. On to the Shadow saga next!

One of the narrators spoke so incredibly slow that it was hard to follow what was happening. Even at 2x, it just felt my brain was trudging through a swamp. Other narrators were fine, although I would prefer if they would stick to a male and female and switch off when characters were talking, had one narrator, or have a narrator for each character (which they did), but actually switch off every time the dialogue switched. It felt weird hearing one character's narrator as that character, then stay as that voice until the next track even though the character would leave.

I like that Orson Scott Card is not predictable or simple in his writing. Very interesting philosophical questions and cultural exploration. However, there further I have gone into this series, the less I can relate to or even care about the characters. They are all so self loathing and ugly. A good portion of this book is simply characters saying nasty things to each other. It makes the “love” stories in the book seem flat and superficial to me. The individual narrators are fine but I have to agree with some of the other comments, there are just too many. One masculine and one feminine voice is enough (as I have enjoyed in other series.) Despite my criticism, I have to admit I want to know how he wraps everything up. I probably will not be able to resist checking out the final book in this series.

if i could give it a negative star, I would. worst of the series. I have never heard so much rambling on, in a book ever. many times had to hit fast forward 30 seconds. till he was done kicking a dead horse. terribly written. made me not want to listen to last book

Woof. This was terrible compared to the others in the series. Most of the characters are awful people. Far too many deus ex machinas. And the narrators, while all great, mixed together was frustrating to follow when they kept switching.
