Great book needs a different title...inspiring
This was the BEST book I listened to last year, hands-down! I highly recommend the audio version, because the author is telling his own story. I really like that he breaks up the book into different topics… His personal story, scientific statistical data, societal data, and his own opinions. So if one topic doesn’t interest you, he moves on to another one pretty quickly, although I found the whole book to be excellent!
Absolutely must read.
Great book! I want to buy a copy for everyone I know. I was a bit disappointed that the author never acknowledges the privilege that allows one to disconnect in many of the ways described in the book (white, male, appropriate connections, a job that allows you to take 5 weeks off at a time, etc.) but I appreciate the core message. At least some things in this book will be accessible to all. Using the Alaskan trip as the backbone of the narrative was very neatly done. Author as narrator was not fantastic, but overall fine.
Wonderfully written story of personal adventure with lots of scientific research to backup the claims made. Very important subject material consider for the modern individuals lifestyle
