Summary
Masterful storytelling from #1 New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas brings her sexy, action-packed series to new heights.

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae,
she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people.

As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds
her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin. While Feyre navigates a dark web of
politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms. She might just be the key to stopping it, but only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her
fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world in turmoil.

I've read this book at least twice before, but this narrator really has a way of embodying the characters. I could always tell who she was portraying whether it be a male or female. She is just awesome! This will always be one of my favorite series. I love the characters with a passion. Sarah J. Maas really paints a picture and creates the most amazing worlds.

This series is one of my favorites! And this is the second time listening to the audio book though with a different t narrator who was lovely. Highly recommend if you like the enemies to lovers trope, there was only one bed trope, or bamf female characters trope.

I really enjoyed the book. I also loved the narrator for this book, it was a great audio book.

I LOVE THIS BOOK !!! So much better than the first one!! The first one was an appetiser This… this was the main !! More spicy. More drama.more violence. More flirty. More Rhysand!!!!! I feel like a teenage girl with a crush.. it’s incredible.. Love that the narrator does the voices, really brings out the characters personalities and makes it easy to recognise and relate.

Amazing book and amazing audiobook! I started off reading by myself, but due to the business of life had taken to listening while doing other tasks ( laundry, driving to work/grocery store) or while cooking. And at time I would even listen while reading. Such a great action packed storyline filled with empowerment and romance. Definitely a complete 180 from the first book and a challenge to the notion that “villains” are bad. I cannot wait to start the next book!!

Could not stop listening to this book and looking forward to starting the next one. So much better than the first book of the series. The storyline with her sisters gets to be a little too much at the end. In general, the book is full of twists and turns that keep it exciting.

This one was slow so I moved on to the next one, which has started exciting. Too muchlooking back.

WOW. This book is incredible. The storyline is enthralling and dark in a beautiful way and just perfect. This is now my favorite book, ever. It's a little sad that it's over, and I'll never get to read it for the first time again. I am just profoundly impressed and in love!

Basically word porn. Way too much sex, especially for a book geared toward teens.

I'm thrilled by this story. didn't give a dime at the beginning, now I'm the biggest fairy world fan. I loved this book even more than the first. and let me tell you something out of the anonymity of this account: the sex scenes are hot! they are so hot... undescribably hot. never thought I could get horny by a fairy but suddenly you listen to a book and it happens.

Overall, it's a good story. I wish the writer would have sprinkled more of the ending of the story throughout the book instead of all at the end. At times, it was a bit slow and hard to stay focused on.

I was expecting the story, writing, character development, and world building to get better after the first book. It has not gotten better. I'm not going to bother finishing the book.

This isn’t my genre…at all…so I was surprised to become fully engaged and enjoying this story! With that said, the protagonist was an irritating, entitled, over blown character with juvenile emotions and behaviors and that irritated me incessantly. And yet, through all that, I enjoyed the story!

Profile Avatar

I read the first one and usually love reading the physical copy, but I really enjoyed listening to this audio version. The story itself was better than ACOTAR. Already have the third book lined up to listen to!

Profile Avatar

The first book was enertaining but this one had so many twists and turns and seemed to go nowhere, I just had to hang on to finish it, but it didm't really finish. 23 Hours is a long time to listen and the though the narrator's voice was really good, even that became too much in the end. I'll give the next book in the series a miss.

This book is even better than the first one! Feyre turns into a more independent character and the romance gets more steamy. The narration of the book is phenomenal!

Initially I did not much enjoy the story, but as I persevered through the first few chapters it really grew on me. An now I cannot wait to read the sequal.

the narrators tone is very airy, whimsical & floaty. melancholic & sing songy. lots of vocal fry for the guys voice. places the emphasis on a different syllable like research as rihSEARCH. maybe others enjoy it but it really grated on my nerves for some reason. story is a bit slow if u like beauty n the beast stockholm vibes

I don't dislike the first book of this series but I found this one way better. Love the character development and the heavier focus on family and friendship relationship instead of romantic relationships, of course there still is romance.

I loved the theme and growth of Fayre in this book! Sarah J. Maas took on some tough subjects like depression and abuse (emotional, sexual and physical) and executed in a way that was comforting, connecting and healing at least for me personally. She also grows Fayre into so much stronger of a character and a woman who finds comfort, confidence, beauty and a sense of true (and still developing) self in her own skin. While the first book in the series felt like it lacked some of this substance (IMO), this second book took on some tough subjects and left me personally feeling empowered, strong and capable. Also Jennifer Ikeda is an amazing narrator! I’m disappointed to see that she won’t be narrating the next books in the series!
