Unabridged Audiobook
The narrator scream yells the whole book. Her voice is shrill and even in parts that are not particularly exciting. She seems to verbalize it in an overlly anxious way. Almost as if she is yelling the story at you or telling evey scene as if you should be on the edge of your seat. Its hard to listen too. As for the story it "good" a little too kitchy at times. This auther has some GREAT books this just was not my favorite.
I love Nora Roberts’ books. Love this trilogy, but the narrator makes Branna sound like she’s 80 years old.
That narrator screams to much
I liked the story but felt the narrator did a lot of screaming. She was very loud in parts and made it hard to listen to her.
great romantic story
I loved the story, the characters and the narrator. Yes at times the narrator raised her voice but only during times when casting spells and at those times there was high emotion, or fear so it felt like you were there in the moment. I do enjoy Nora Roberts' trilogies they are an easy read and yes, a happy ending.
I loved the book. I really do not care for the narrator though.
I am not a big Nora Roberts fan but thought I'd give this book a try. I have a lot of mixed feeling about this book. I feel like she repeated herselve several times though the book.. I food myself wishing it would just move on cause we all ready new that. The very beginning of the book as she is setting up the past takes way to long and I almost stopped reading. Yet at the say time when I got to the end I was interested to know what was going to happen and found myself wishign the second book was out. I did like the Characters and I feel like Nora did a great job giving them the charatariscs she did. Not sure if I will read the second book or not, but I'd like to know where the love of the two main characters goes. Narration was okay. It wasn't my favorite but I have heard worse.
I wanted to like this book so much, but I’m giving up after an hour and a half. The story isn’t hooking me in and the narrator is so awful yelling and screaming and over dramatizing everything, I just can’t subject myself to it anymore. I’m really disappointed.
I really liked the book although the theme was very outside of what I expected from the author. It was nice going to the world of fantasy as Nora captured it so nicely. The narrator was extremely hard to listen and annoyed me at times with awfully loud voices. It just broke my concentration to the book. That was a shame really as I really enjoyed the book.
Loved it
I liked this book very much, good story and Narrator.
I loved this book love the series
I loved the story and the narration. Having just come home from a tour of Ireland and visiting many places named in the book was wonderful and I thought the Irish accent was charming and warm. The loudness of the narrator at times was appropriate for the intensity of the scene and made me feel the energy! Will definitely need to give a listen to the other 2 in the series!
I seem to be in the minority. I loved the narration, and thought the Irish accent was charming. The boldness (and loudness) of the narrator was appropriate for the intensity of the narrative and made me feel the moments! I loved the intertwining of the horses and hawks and could most smell the fresh forest. I am a longtime Roberts fan and continue to read her because I am very comfortable with her style.
I could not finish this book. I felt that the narrator was yelling at me. Very uncomfortable .... story so so
Good story, follows the Nora Roberts pattern of everyone is family, all the women get along and they live happily ever after. (Sorry, cynical but Roberts gets a little tiresome in her unrealistic relationship dynamics). The narrator needed to tone it down though as I had to lower the volume all the time when she was yelling the spells and dramatic moments.
Typical Nora Roberts book. Entertaining and worth listening to. The narrator on the other hand is horrible half the time she's yelling the other half she's using horrible Irish accents.
