Unabridged Audiobook
The premise of the book is kinda corny, but the characters make up for it. After I got past the ridiculous idea of the storyline, and just how completely insane and unbelievable the government is, I really liked it. Kinda a mixture of The Hunger Games and The Host, just all the aliens are really evil instead of kind. I love books where the little people rise up to fight against a stronger force, so I was bound to enjoy this. Not much actually happened in the first 7/8ths of the book, but it still kept my interest, that really says something for quality of writing! The narrator did great. I am looking forward to see what happens next
Love love loved this series
The narrators voice for alex is just about the most annoying thing I've ever heard and her voice for Hannah coming in a close second
First, I thought the narrator's depiction of the main character was amazing! I could not have wished for a better narrator for this book. Her inflections and nuances brought interesting clarity to so many situations, I am almost certain if I read it myself I would have missed certain situation's importance and impact. To the plot! Some say in their reviews that the plot is dull or corny or over the top, however when we compare such a book as the Hunger Games or the Divergent series to this series, I think we can say that all the plots are fairly over the top, but that is the point! I did not think the plot was too out there or unbelievable, just a different take on how society will twist the truth to manipulate people in different ways. Throughout the entire story, I was hooked. I could not stop listening and absolutely loved the characters and their interactions with eachother. I could relate to nearly every part of the story. For anyone who is on the fence about giving this book a try, I saw 100% go for it, you will not be disappointed. I am more than excited for the next two books!
it was a great audio book to listen and it was well written
this is a really interesting book. I loved listening to this book.
Terrible narration. Plot is predictable. But it was the narration that really turned me off
I am seriously so glad I choose this audiobook! It's well written. It seems kinda corny, but it's the really good kind of corny. It's a gut wrenching, heart stopping, post apocalyptic vibe romance story. I seriously could not get enough of this book! My only regret is not knowing other people who have read/listened so that we could talk about it!! The girl who reads the book does a really good job making voice differentiations, even for the male roles. Something about how she does the main male, totally makes me think of Evan Peters. Let's face it, any book where the mental image of the male is Evan Peters is going to capture any modern females attention! *drools*
At first I wasn't sure about the story, sounding like a typical YA scenario, but as I kept listening I was dazzled from the story telling and the story itself. This is a beautiful novel that I couldn't put down and the narrator was too perfect in conveying the characters. 5 stars!!!
It was a good "read"! I enjoyed it very much, the narrator did a fabulous job!
Loved the way the narrator did a great job getting the characters' personalities with her voice. The book was very good and I have been waiting to find one I liked this much since I first read Twilight wayyy back in 2008.
good storyline but kind of mind numbingly slow at times. But a good read and original, The narrarator was amazing . One thing that is a vital part of listening to a book as apposed to reading one urself, is to hear the characters emotions, its what brings them and their world/story to life its what fuels the reader and makes us feel everyrhing they feel and she nailed it. I would reccomend this book on that alone
This book has you HOOK, LINE, SINKER in the first 10 minutes. Excellent writting. Lauren Oliver is one my new favorite authors. Two thumbs up.
