Summary
The USA TODAY bestseller that introduced Sienna Jensen and Lucas Wolfe and launched new adult romance novelist Emily Snow.

Sienna’s dreams lie in California, but when she discovers her grandmother’s Nashville home has been foreclosed, she has no other choice than to move back to Music City, where she comes face-to-face with the flawed, gorgeous man she never thought she’d see again—and who now holds the deed to her grandma’s estate.

Millionaire rock star Lucas Wolfe is just as surprised to find the outspoken redhead glaring at him from across a courtroom. He still can’t get the night Sienna spent with him out of his mind, and the chemistry between them is as undeniable as ever. Now, Lucas is determined to do whatever it takes to lure Sienna into his bed, so he makes a deal with her: if she spends ten days with him, playing by his rules, he’ll hand over the deed to her grandmother’s home.

Though she agrees to the arrangement for her family’s sake, Sienna struggles with the promises she’s made to herself and a past that still haunts her. As Lucas’s game of seduction continues and Sienna is introduced to his dark, erotic world, she realizes that at any moment, she could be devoured.

know a lot of people rave about this book, but it was just okay for me. I was intrigued throughout most of the story and found it interesting, but there was just something missing. For me, it was like when you get an itch on your back you just can’t reach. You scratch all around the itch, but nothing alleviates the irritation. That’s how I felt reading Devoured. It was almost like the author couldn’t decide on a genre so she scratched the surface of a few without fully investing herself. For example, was this book a BDSM? I’m not really sure. The author never actually goes into detail about why Lucas wants Sienna to “Submit” to him or what exactly that means to him. He draws up a contract that sounds an awful lot like BDSM, but they never actually go there. He’s into handcuffs and restraints and spankings, but we never find out why. And truthfully, it just feels like he’s all talk. It’s like getting your toes wet on a hot day. I wanted to dive into that part of the story deeper, but the author kept me wading on the surface. Their pasts? This was one of the most unsatisfying parts of the story for me. Again, the author drops hints about things that have happened to the hero and heroine in their past, but never really explains it. She never gets into detail about why Lucas kicked Sienna out, only to want her 2 years later. His best explanation is she’s the only one who’s said no to him. That’s a terrible reason to want someone. What happens when she says yes? Will he kick her out again? The most frustrating part of this book is by far the end. This was a prime example of a pretty good book being ruined by a horrible ending. This story dragged on for quite some time in the beginning, only to feel rushed at the end. Things are moving along and then all of a sudden we have an unexplained breakup. I really don’t consider this a happily ever after, and I was left with too many unanswered questions. I’m a little afraid to continue if another book is released. I’m not sure I’d actually get the answers I was looking for.
