Summary
Michael Havel was flying over Idaho en route to the holiday home of his passengers when the plane's engines inexplicably died, forcing a less than perfect landing in the wilderness. And, as Michael leads his charges to safety, he begins to realize that the engine failure was not an isolated incident.

Juniper Mackenzie was singing and playing guitar in a pub when her small Oregon town was thrust into darkness. Cars refused to start. Phones were silent. And when an airliner crashed, no sirens sounded and no fire trucks arrived. Now, taking refuge in her family's cabin with her daughter and a growing circle of friends, Juniper is determined to create a farming community to benefit the survivors of this crisis.

But even as people band together to help one another, others are building armies for conquest...

My favourite book I've read so many times, and the audio version didn't lose anything, I liked the narrator and was a cool new way to experience an old favourite.

Great plot. Pretty boring every time the character Juniper showed up which was half the book. I felt that fight scenes were difficult to follow and major events occurred in an instant while some other, less important, events dragged on.

So, the book is ok, it's a little out there with gunpowder not working and such. A little hoky for sure. The narrator makes every accent sound like a Scottish accent even the Native American. Shouldn't have wasted my credit on it.

Great story, underlying political and religious jargon that leans politically but entertaining and a good story to say the least. Good narration, IMO though a little overboard on the Scottish accent.

Unfortunately too unrealistic on the physics of the change, way too much Wichcraft theme throughout the book.

Awesome series. A fresh new look on EMP apocalypse scenario’s, a bit far fetched but the author is very good. The storyline tends to jump in time but the story continues to excite. If you like Tolkien and EMP apocalypse series, you’ll love this book.

I didn't care for the characterization (so many stereotypes!) and inconsistent character development. Dialogue was flat, and it seems like the author just wanted to fit in as many fight scenes as possible as well as each male character sizing up teenage girls. I listened as long as I could stand, but I honestly couldn't make it all the way through.

It was an interesting story. I loved that the book was based in the Pacific Northwest and surrounding areas.

You can tell that the author is infuriatingly self involved.
