Unabridged Audiobook
A very good listen. Very interesting. I thought since it was written long ago it would be out of place but I never felt that way. It was just a very good story and the narration was so smooth and easy to listen to.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was so surprised to discover that it was first published in 1919...I guess good science fiction has no expiration date. The narration was a bit dry, but consistent and easy to understand. The subject matter kept me interested and soon I found the narration to be adequate for my enjoyment. Highly recommend this book!
I really enjoyed this story. I’m telling others to download.
Good book I like it
I got a bit irritated that the doctor who decided to stay behind suddenly appears once the 3 companions get to the Chemist's town. A bit of a continuity flaw. But generally the story is entertaining and has some intersting and forward thinking ideas and topics considering when the book was written. Narrator is good, i think his tone allows you to hear the story about without really hearing his voice. I have to say I like that.
i really enjoyed this book.
too monotonous voice for reading
Interesting story. Narrator was very good.
I enjoyed the book once I got past the narrater's style of reading. The narrater, Richard Kilmer (sorry Mr Kilmer
If you remember this book was written in the early 1900s you will absolutely love it. Set aside some of your common knowledge.
Very interesting and captivating . look forward to finding more from the author
People whom rate this low do not understand the time era it was written in... Context is everything This is an amazing piece of Pulp Sci-Fi
The story is truly interesting. Some things did irritate me, however. The four men in the story were never referred to by their name, only their occupation: the doctor, the chemist, the big businessman and the very young man. So very anonymous. And the narrator had no inflection in his voice. Artificial Intelligence?? Gulliver‘s Travels taken to a whole new level. It’s worth listening to.
didn't mind the storyline but couldn't listen to it All the narrator had no expression what so ever completely ruined it
Extremely enjoyable and thought provoking. A lot less sexism than is usually found in books from this era, aside from a few uncomfortable sentences I wasn't rolling my eyes as much as I usually have to!
A very good listen. Very interesting. I thought since it was written long ago it would be out of place but I never felt that way. It was just a very good story and the narration was so smooth and easy to listen to. I used the first review because it said everything I wanted to say. Thank You.
A reasonable listen, but the age of the book shows through in much of the language, context and scientific theory. The book starts well and holds the readers attention for the first few chapters but ultimately descends into the usual “good v bad war” storyline. The narration is fine, albeit a little monotone. Having said all that, I did listen to the whole book, so it held my attention.
The storyline was a bit slow, but the narrative was ok.
I enjoyed the reading of this imaginative story.
Interesting. Wouldn’t mind listening to it again
Interesting read
