Summary
New York Times bestselling author Kristan Higgins is beloved for her heartfelt novels filled with humor and wisdom. Now, in her newest novel, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT, she tackles an issue every woman deals with: body image and self-acceptance. Emerson, Georgia, and Marley have been best friends ever since they met at a weight-loss camp as teens. When Emerson tragically passes away, she leaves one final wish for her best friends: to conquer the fears they still carry as adults. For each of them, that means something different. For Marley, it's coming to terms with the survivor's guilt she's carried around since her twin sister's death, which has left her blind to the real chance for romance in her life. For Georgia, it's about learning to stop trying to live up to her mother's and brother's ridiculous standards, and learning to accept the love her ex-husband has tried to give her. But as Marley and Georgia grow stronger, the real meaning of Emerson's dying wish becomes truly clear: more than anything, she wanted her friends to love themselves. A novel of compassion and insight, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT tells the story of two women who learn to embrace themselves just the way they are.

Interesting and enjoyable. The reader was awesome, it’s great they have the same narrator. Can’t wait to start #3 tomorrow!

This book spoke to me in so many ways - about our society’s shameful obsession over weight; about self-love and acceptance; about saying the things that take courage to share with another; and about the inevitable fragility of the human heart. I will be recommending it to others, no question. At one point I was listening to it in my car and was getting all choked up! Beautifully done, between the writing and the narration. <3

This is my favorite of Ms. Higgins’ books. Each of the characters touched my heart in so many ways. Having grown up a fat kid, I felt so much with these characters, but having been loved by my family my whole life and wonderful husband for 35 years, I am so grateful that I never experienced the loneliness of these ladies. I laughed and cried with them. The characters were developed beautifully and this is what keeps bringing me back to this author.

Surprised I like this book as much as I did. It started in a "fat kid camp" and well the story follows the 3 friends - it revolves around eating/food/relationships but author draws you into them. Super relatable even if you're not fat..its a chick book for sure. I was sad when it ended, I feel like my 3 new friends left me.

What a great read. The plot and character development kept me interested and waiting with anticipation to see how it would turn out. Fallible characters kept it believable. All the narrators did an excellent job.

I really enjoyed this book, it really hit home with any sort of body shaming and how much your weight control your life. The Narration was also excellent

This book brought me to tears at work. As a plus size woman, I relate to some of the struggles and to hear some of the ladies are so much smaller and still getting shamed or dealing with real struggles shows both sides face hardships. I think it’s beautiful they found peace within themselves. I love the way the story ends, and Emerson’s story is so heartbreaking. Makes you really look at yourself, your very capable bodies, and reality just a little differently.

Very real and relatable (except for the rabbit incident). I recommend this for anyone who has struggled with their weight or knows someone who has struggled with their weight. I believe this book could give some people a better understanding of why it can be so hard to lose weight and keep it off. I laughed out loud and cried with the characters. I would listen to this again.
