Head Over Heels

A former bad boy turned town sheriff who desires the town's Wild Child come together in this story from Jill Shalvis in her Lucky Harbor series. Chloe and Sawyer are attracted to each other and are thrown together because her sisters are involved with his best friends. They are brought together when Chloe and her best friend steal some pit bulls from a dog fighter. Also Sawyer is always stopping by the B&B for her sister's coffee. Sawyer is so into Chloe he's even breaking the rules for her. As they get to know each other and realize they're more alike than they realize they become closer and the desire becomes more intense. After Chloe has a disagreement with her sisters and goes to check out the mud springs she's stranded. When a shady friend of a friend picks her up and she makes him stop for a stranded motorist she's left behind. Sawyer comes and takes care of them and then takes Chloe to his house to get cleaned up only they become intimate and before the can finish she suffers an asthma attack and they go to the ER. That scares Sawyer so when they come together the next time he's prepared and so is Chloe. After a night of drunken painting at Sawyer's house they are caught by his friends with paint in unusual places. As the become closer and start falling for each other Sawyer's assignment helping the DEA gets in the way. Chloe is always there to be his support when he needs it. The town puts their advice into the mix as well. Chloe helps a runaway bride. Her sister's and Chloe add a spa to the B&B so that she can stay close to home. They celebrate their success by going to the mud springs and her sisters are drunk only to be found by Sawyer who misses an important message. Chloe shows up when Sawyer needs her. When she see some suspicious movement near the B&B and investigates. Chloe is drawn into Sawyer's DEA case and held hostage. In a standoff she takes the situation in hand and then is sent to the ER because of the asthma. She realized during the standoff that she needs to tell her sisters and Sawyer that she loves them. Sawyer and Chloe tell each other they have feeling for each other. A month later at her sister's wedding rehearsal Chloe get a proposal and accepts. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed reading or listening to a Jill Shalvis book. The Lucky Harbor series is some of her best work. I look forward to listening or reading more of this series and other Jill Shalvis books, Jill Shalvis can easily bec0me a favorite author of mine.
