This book is cute, but not really for me. I'm not a big fan of Young Adult. I like the new genre New Adult, but for some reason the heroine in this one feels way to young. It's just a personal preference, but I can't finish it.
I read this book like a decade ago, and it was good, but not a favorite. However, listening to it was amazing. The narration was PERFECTION. The narrator did an amazing job, especially voicing Sophie (very young), her great-grandmother (cute British accent), and her headmaster (proper Southern belle).
A nice little adventure overall with a couple of twists. But at it got stupidly, sickeningly moral at the very end.
And btw, the narrator should learn to pronounce words, especially if it's the name of the setting where the story takes place. That was super annoying the entire book to have to listen to it said wrong.
