Summary
Willie Nelson shares his life story in this 'heartfelt' bestselling memoir of true love, wild times, best friends, and barrooms (Washington Post).
'Unvarnished. Funny. Leaving no stone unturned.' . . . So say the publishers about this book I've written. What I say is that this is the story of my life, told as clear as a Texas sky and in the same rhythm that I lived it.

It's a story of restlessness and the purity of the moment and living right. Of my childhood in Abbott, Texas, to the Pacific Northwest, from Nashville to Hawaii and all the way back again. Of selling vacuum cleaners and encyclopedias while hosting radio shows and writing song after song, hoping to strike gold.

It's a story of true love, wild times, best friends, and barrooms, with a musical sound track ripping right through it. My life gets lived on the road, at home, and on the road again, tried and true, and I've written it all down from my heart to yours.

Signed, Willie Nelson.

Good Job Willie, Your History of the Good, the Bad , the Ugly and the Music in our hearts are a tribute to all the hearts willing to listen. An ole' saying : " The prophet will appear when the student is ready" rings in every chapter of you life. " Appreciate you, your belief in the God that resides in you via the Holy Spirit, Family and respect thy neighbor. But don't respect thy neighbor's wife--as much . Best to you and those you love. Eventually you forget that it’s not Willie reading. This book is like listening to stories from an old friend.

I am not sure why I chose this book to listen to, but I am glad I did. I knew of Willie Nelson but not much else. It was interesting to hear about his life and how he got into the business and has managed to keep his career going so long. Enjoyed the book and the narration.

I knew nothing of Willie Nelson before this book. I feel I learned much more than expected about the country music business. This is a good book, especially if you want to get out of your comfort zone and hear about something new.
