Summary
In an uptown strip joint, a cop is found bludgeoned to death. The weapon’s a baseball bat. The motive’s a mystery. It’s a case of serious overkill that pushes Eve Dallas straight into overdrive. Her investigation uncovers a private club that’s more than a hot spot. Purgatory’s a last chance for atonement where everyone is judged. Where your most intimate fate depends on your most intimate sins. And where one cop’s hidden secrets are about to plunge innocent souls into vice-ridden damnation…

This series is addictive. I started listening to book one and now up to book 16 now. I love Peabody as that character brings a lot to series as do all of the regular ones. The narrator is beyond talented. I can't believe how many voices She can do. One of the best narrators ever!

This is one one my favorite books from my #1 book series. I decided to listen to it as an audiobook but it shattered me the voices were oh so wrong. Absolutely did not like the narrators. Might have to read the book again to banish the voices on the audiobook.

Another great J.D. Robb story. Eve Dallas is great enjoy how she gets into the head of the killer. Good story about police corruption. Story is fast past, could use a bit less of the sex scene. Look forward to more in this series.
