Summary
Suspended from his job with the LAPD, Harry Bosch must face the darkest parts of his past to track down his mother's killer . . . even if it costs him his life.

Harry Bosch's life is on the edge. His earthquake-damaged home has been condemned. His girlfriend has left him. He's drinking too much. And after attacking his commanding officer, he's even had to turn in his L.A.P.D. detective's badge. Now, suspended indefinitely pending a psychiatric evaluation, he's spending his time investigating an unsolved crime from 1961: the brutal slaying of a prostitute who happened to be his own mother.

Even after three decades, Harry's questions generate heat among L.A.'s top politicos. And as the truth begins to emerge, it becomes more and more apparent that someone wants to keep it buried. Someone very powerful...very cunning...and very deadly.

Edgar Award-winning author Michael Connelly has created a dark, fast-paced suspense thriller that cuts to the core of Harry Bosch's character. Once you start it, there's no turning back.

The “Last Coyote” is very well done by Michael Connelly! This book gives the reader a deep insight into the character of Harry Bosch, yet does not disappoint with all the action and plot twists we have come to expect in the Harry Bosch series!

I just stated listening to the Harry Bosch series this past weekend and I'm on the 5th book already. I'm hooked. The story line keeps you guessing until the end and the narrator does a great job keeping your attention.

Another great Harry Bosch book. Echo Park has many twist and turns. Detective Bosch has great instincts. Sometimes they can’t be proven. This haunts Bosch. Once in awhile things do come together.

Big fan of Michael Connelly's, I have read most everything he has written. Michael never disappoints. I thought I had read the entire Bosch series, but somehow I missed this one. Very glad I listened to it, really gives us a look inside Harry's head. Not that it starts out slow, but in comparison to most of Bosch's stories this one takes more time to develop, but it is well worth the read. Read it, great story, you will really enjoy it.

What an incredible, great, fascinating, wonderful story! I love Harry Bosch and this is a particularly great book where you really see his character and the type of person he is...strong, determined, honest, MY HERO! Of course, since I'm a Los Angeles native, I love all the references to streets and areas I know very well, especially Hollywood. I feel like I know Harry. Awesome book.

Harry reviews his mother's unsolved case while on suspension from the LAPD. He comes too close to the truth and puts himself in danger. This is another interesting Harry Bosch detective story.

Now THIS was a good book....Having been introduced to Bosch's character in "The Closers," it is interesting and engaging to go back to earlier books featuring his character. The Last Coyote was compelling and surprisingly intense. This was one of those books that actually made me want to drive so I could hear more.

I love Michael Connelly books. His characters are wonderful and he keeps you guessing til the end. As always though, I really wish this was an unabridged version. I don't understand why people would want to read or hear a book with parts cut out of it. I would have rated this a 5 if I could have heard the whole thing with nothing missing.
