Summary
New secrets, old flames, and hidden agendas are about to send bounty hunter Stephanie Plum on her most outrageous adventure yet!

MISTAKE #1
Dickie Orr
Stephanie was married to him for about fifteen minutes before she caught him cheating on her with her archnemesis, Joyce Barnhardt. Another fifteen minutes after that, Stephanie filed for divorce, hoping never to see either one of them again.

MISTAKE #2
Doing favors for super bounty hunter Carlos Manoso (aka Ranger)
Ranger needs Stephanie to meet with Dickie and find out if he's doing something shady. Turns out, he is. Turns out, Dickie's also back to doing Joyce Barnhardt. And it turns out Ranger's favors always come with a price. . . .

MISTAKE #3
Going completely nutso while doing the favor for Ranger, and trying to apply bodily injury to Dickie in front of the entire office
Now Dickie has disappeared, and Stephanie is the natural suspect in his disappearance. Is Dickie dead? Can he be found? And can Stephanie Plum stay one step ahead in this new, dangerous game? Joe Morelli, the hottest cop in Trenton, New Jersey, is also keeping Stephanie on her toes

and he may know more than he's saying about many things in Stephanie's life. It's a cat-and-mouse game for Stephanie Plum wherein the ultimate prize might be her life.

With Janet Evanovich's flair for hilarious situations, breathtaking action, and unforgettable characters, Lean Mean Thirteen shows why no one can beat Evanovich for blockbuster entertainment.

I love all the numbered series that I have read and this book is no exception. My eyesight has becomes bit challenging and I feared I wouldn't be able to finish the series, but then I found this web site and it's all good. I like to laugh and I found myself chuckling and even laughing out loud! Recommend the book for everyone!, even my Mom! Love the narrator and the different voices used...what a hoot!

Loved this book. Like all of her books, I found myself laughing out loud as I was driving to and from work. I just love Lula. Lorelei King is a great narrator. I love the voices she uses for the characters. I highly recommend this book.

Excellent book but the reader's voice is hard to listen to. Although she knows the characters very well her voice is obnoxious but the book is still worth listening to.

Why oh why did the reader change? C.J. Critt is Stephanie Plum - I love this series but could not get through the first CD - I felt as though I was listening to an impostor. I'll buy the book and read this one.

Just as fun to listen to as the other Evanovich "number" books! I especially enjoyed this narrator who makes all the characters come alive!

I usually read Evanovich books, and enjoy them immensely. I would probably have enjoyed this audio version even MORE than the written form, if the narrator had been chosen with an ear towards authenticity. This narrator's voice was too perfect (and waaay too old) for Stephanie Plum. I felt as if I was listening to a long Downey television commercial. Even worse, her voices for the supporting cast were unimaginative and false. At times I was embarrassed for her, particularly when she attempted Stephanie's ex husband and grandma Mazur. The story, however, was great and funny and Evanovich is in terrific form, mining humor from everyday life. Despite the wretched treatment from the narrator, I found myself laughing outloud in the car several times. In short, if I had the chance, I would not listen to this again, but I would definitely read it.

This is a fast pace mystery story with just the right amount of humor to leave a smile on your face when you arrive at work. This series is great for commuting to work and home. Leaves you feeling good. Evanovich is a master of dialogue and King is a great reader.

As always I am happy and excited when each book in this series is published and so sad when I get to the end. Stephanie Plum and the characters, especially her grandmother, keep you laughing. The people in her neighborhood, "The Berg" always have something going on. I love Janet Evanovich as an author and her Stephanie Plum series. If like mysteries but not the gore and horror you find in most books in this genre read this series. You will love it!! I can't wait for the next one!!
