If you like historical fiction you will like this book it’s well written

I am a "boomer" and not a fan of the Vietnam war but this book is fabulous. Truly tells the story of the Marines fighting as well as the insane politics. Different racial climate, too boAndhe ok brought it back in a fascinating and accurate way!

This is a great book! I wanted to listen to a good war story and I took a chance on this one. It takes you on a journey with a bunch of kids living through horrible conditions and doing whatever they are ordered to do. Made me gringe, laugh, and brought a tear to my eyes at times.

Though it is a fictional book it's a great Vietnam story

This book was overwhelmingly good. It was heartbreaking and raw. After reading this book, I have more respect for those who fought in Vietnam then I ever thought possible. What they had to endure was simply unbelievable at times. I am so grateful to have a better understanding of what they went through so I can better empathize with those amazing patriots. I was a little unsure of the narration at first, but it didn't take long to truly see the talent and genius of this narrator. Well well done sir.

A book that reveals the unimaginable and intense violence that war is, and how it scars those who have lived through it. Very well written and narrated, I was left drained, but in a good way.

Great, great story of the men and women who fought in Vietnam. As a USMC Officer I found the characters, story line and text all to honest and right on que. I thought it was one of my best selections this year.

Great book. I learned what my father went through while serving in the Quang Tri Province.

I didn't want this to be even partly real. Turns out it probably was mostly real. Great book. Wish there was a obscenity free version for the kids.

This is one of the best war stories I have ever "read" It reminded me that it is the best of a generation that fights thes wars and die for no good reason.

Thought this might be a tough one to get into....but love it. Can't wait to get in the car and keep listening

This book is often difficult to read because of the grittiness and graphic detail of combat operations in Vietnam. Especially for those of us who shared in that experience. Yet it's a must read for all Americans "Lest we forget".

My best friend was a marine and died over there. This book tells me what he had to deal with. A very powerful and true to life novel; it takes you there; it tells you what happened and by inference tells you what idiots ran our government at the time. What a waste of good young men.......whose blood was spilled for nothing but faulty ideology.....this is their story. Rent it............
