Unabridged Audiobook
Very long and sometimes far too much narrative. It however it is brilliantly written, creating a clear view of Paris and its culture of that day. The author instincts for human nature and the nature of human, are amazingly written. The various narrators do a wonderful job of allowing the plot to come through the seemingly endless street names, historial, military and philosophical figure that may not be readily remembered by a modern listener, or I suspect readers of that day. It has far too many wonderful insights to let the length prevent anyone from giving it a listen. I suggest though you should be ready to follow the wisdom on how to eat an elephant.
