Summary
In Agatha Christie’s baffling detective story, Nemesis, a letter from a dead man instructs Miss Marple how to conduct an investigation into a puzzlingly unspecific crime.

In utter disbelief, Miss Marple read the letter addressed to her from the recently deceased Mr. Rafiel—an acquaintance she had met briefly on her travels. He had left instructions for her to investigate a crime after his death. The only problem was, he had failed to tell her who was involved or where and when the crime had been committed. It was most intriguing.

Soon she is faced with a new crime—the ultimate crime—murder. It seems someone is adamant that past evils remained buried. . . .

It is a pity that Joan Hickson couldn't or somehow didn't get a chance to narrate in her inimitable style this long, difficult book, not Agatha's best. It is very repetitive, and contains long passages of Miss Marple speaking. The present narrator, in these passages, is trying to sound like Joan Hickson narrating, and she only succeeds in sounding strained and exhausted. Joan Hickson was so wonderful in her creation of Miss Marple and in her creation of other people, male and female, that I feel it is unwise to hire other narrators to narrate the Miss Marple novels and stories. It is a great pity that Joan didn't narrate this one because she would have made it much better.

I love Agatha Christie books and Miss Marple is such a loving ,trusting lady but don't let her age and appearance fool you, if you are guilty, she will get you.
