Narrating could have been better, hard to follow narrator sometimes

Disappointing ending it went on a bit long

A good read, of course, I like Zane Grey.

I think The Untamed (the first book) in the series is better, but I won’t complain. Having a sequel to it satisfies curiosity on how the characters developed.

Ran Mattison... A different type of western story. Still has plenty of action, but also gets into the different characters feelings and motivations.
