Another Crossover Treat! Great Story & Narration! Anna Durand pens another winning romance novel, an amazing crossover event, treating us with characters from three of her fabulous worlds, “Hot Brits”, “Hot Scots, and Au Naturel”, all fan favorites. After meeting Owen Metzger in “Wild in a Kilt, I was happy to hear he was getting his own story. He is on a vacation in the UK and he stops in a bookshop to see they are selling his novel, but that was not the only thing that got his attention, the shop owner Poppy Goodburn did too. There was an instant chemistry between them and he enjoyed her company and the feeling was mutual, so she agreed to close the shop to spend time with him. He is not sure how she is going to feel when she finds out who he really is and what he really does, a writer of steamy romance novels under a pen name, Desiree Lachance. Things are going great between them, that is until his ex-wife Naomi shows up trying to cause problems, but Poppy won’t let her ruin what is turning out to be a good thing. Then there is Dominic, her overprotective cousin, who tries to intimidate Owen. Talk about meddling, they are getting it from both the Brits and the Scots, not to mention the trouble his ex is stirring up. No worries, the American Wives club, along with their significant other stage an intervention, will find out what Naomi is up to and will put Owen and Poppy’s relationship to the test. May the shenanigans begin! This entertaining, wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, humor, witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance, and it will definitely but a smile on your face. Anna Durand, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride. ~ And for the fabulous narration, Aaron Shedlock, Evelyn Rose and Mackenzie Cartwright were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and they did so with and did so with a complete understanding of who they portraying, giving each a voice that fit that character’s persona and was believable in every role they played. Aaron Sherlock not only nailed it as Owen, but he was fantastic covering the roles of Munro and Dominick too, a Scot and a Brit. Evelyn Rose’s Poppy was spot-on, grasping all sides of her of her personality, Cartwright’s Naomi was spot-on too, angsty and almost desperate. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling every single one. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.
