Summary
A night spent sleeping on dirt and leaves is not how Claire Matchett expected to spend her vacation. She thought this would be a break from the stresses of work and raising her young children. A chance to repair her damaged marriage. A week of hiking and hot tubs with two other couple friends. It sounded like heaven. Then Claire’s minivan breaks down on a lonely dirt road. With no cell reception, the group has no choice but to hike the rest of the way to their hotel. But it turns out the woods aren’t as easy to navigate as they thought. Hours later, they are lost. Hopelessly lost. And as they navigate deeper into the woods, the members of their party are struck down mysteriously one by one. Has a wild animal been hunting them? Or is the hunter one of them? But as more time passes, one thing becomes clear: Only one of them will return home alive.

I was trying to figure it out, arguing with myself over who I thought was "anonymous." I had no idea!!! The epilogue was awesome! I really enjoyed this book. The audio was perfect(@1.25 speed, but that's a me issue, lol)! I flew through this book. I wanted, no needed, to know who was doing it.

The ending got me! Thinking back through the story, I should have figured it out, but I didn’t. That is what makes it a fun read. Nothing deep. Just a relaxing, but sometimes suspenseful book.

I love Freida’a books but this was a total flop. I found myself laughing at serious parts and the story wasn’t believable in the slightest. The characters were childlike and annoying. I did finish it and there were some good and surprising twists. I have noticed that Freida writes children in her books to seem a lot younger than they’re supposed to be and that was very evident in this book. Her daughter is supposed to be 7, but she is written like a 4 year old, and even the narrators voice when she spoke for the girl was like that of a preschooler. Maybe it’s because I have kids around those ages, but it really irritates me

Definitely an interesting little read! Didn’t see that twist coming…

Good story. The reader of the “anonymous” character was like nails on a chalkboard, though. It’s like he was trying to make love to the words. Overall good listen.

Well, if you like husband hater frustrated wife massively nagging and complaining non-stop about her husband for at least the first half of this book... Then fly at it, you'll have a lot of fun... It is full of it and awful.I only listened to it because the plot was a-okay and I needed to kill sometime while fixing my fence. But they almost lost with so much hatred in relationship.Giving 2 stars because, like I said before, the story makes it kind of "listenable".

Loved the twists and turns even though the story was a bit far fetched, I found listening to it quite addictive

Good book. A bit unrealistic. I was half right about the ending. I must say, this author has better books.

Read the reviews and almost didn’t read it. Good ole Frieda she is spectacular with her twist and turns. Might have to re listen to it again. Now that I know who anonymous is….

A bit corny, a bit goofy, a bit surface, but still overall an enjoyable way to spend a few hours

I decided to try this book after I keep seeing people rave over Freida’s books. This was just alright. The characters contradicted themselves a lot, which started getting irritating, and most of them didn’t bother to act like grown adults at all. I also was not fond of either of the narrators.

Enjoyed the book, mostly. The voice of “anonymous” was so disturbing. Didn’t like that

Quite a few twists and turns. It reminded me a bit of The Blair Witch and a bit of The Ritual with splashes of Friday the 13th. This title was a selection from the VIP section. I doubt I would have used a credit on it.

This kept me guessing until the end. Well done.

Love the ending. I got a bit frustrated with Claire since she sounded like more manhattan girl pretending to go to Colorado . Neurotic. But overall good and engaging book!

The main character is embarrassingly stupid. The motivations of the murderer make no sense. This is just a cheap thriller with a pretty predictable plot "twist". Possibly a decent way to pass the time if you have a long layover and absolutely nothing else to do. Save your money (and time) for a better book.

This wasn’t one of my favourite Freida books (and I have read many!) but I still found it entertaining and I was anxious to know who was behind everything happening. I didn’t find any of the characters likeable to be honest, and a lot of it was unrealistic (surely someone had looked up where this resort was??) with some far fetched scenes. However, all in all, it was a fun read and I enjoyed the guessing, plus the ending and the epilogue. but still enjoyed the
