Unabridged Audiobook
A bunch of postmodern mumbo jumbo. About multi- religious “spiritual care” not pastoral care.
Required reading for a seminary class, unfortunately. This meet doesn't meet the expectations set up by the publisher's description. The author uses the introduction to explain that she could connect with people when giving pastoral care because she loved novels. That seems unexpected but important, yet she doesn't clarify it further. She spends much of the first section of book speaking in abstract concepts about theology from various perspectives. Then she jumps to specific, very practical tips about care in numerous situations-- so practical that some of it is just common sense. I had hoped to gain valuable insights and strategies from this book. I got neither.
