A big storm is brewing, there's a killer on the loose, and the ghosts of Myrtle Beach are restless. Psychic medium Simon Kincaide and his sexy cop boyfriend, homicide detective Vic D'Amato, have their hands full helping the Grand Strand brace for rough surf, driving rain, and high winds as a winter storm roars toward shore.

Everyone's on edge, and rumors are rampant about sightings of Blackcoat Benny, a ghostly omen of danger, and worse, the Gallows Nine, the spirits of nine infamous criminals hanged back in the 1700s, a harbinger of disaster. Rough tides wash the wreck of an old pirate ship into shallow waters, high winds threaten to damage an old mansion with a dark past, and the citizens of the beach town hunker down to ride out the storm.

As the skies grow dark and the sea turns wild, several men from prominent local families end up dead under suspicious circumstances. Simon's premonition confirms Vic's gut feeling-the killing is just getting started. As Simon tries to reach out to the spirits of the murdered men to help the investigation, he's attacked by malicious ghosts that don't want anyone getting in the way of their long-overdue vengeance.

Thank you for the Audio, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Vic is involved with another supernatural killer, with Simons help they just maybe able to solve it. As for their relationship Vic is still having to come to grips with his new life style of the ghost world now he has a pirate that is back from the dead causing mayhem. Love this series of ghostly tells with psychic and and cop fighting hand and hand. Kale Williams is a wonder story teller.

Wow! I loved this book and it’s my favourite in the series so far. Vic is called out to a suicide, but something about it feels off to him and he becomes convinced it’s a supernatural murder. Simon, meanwhile is asked to help try and appease spirits at a local mansion that is haunted so badly it’s stopping renovation works. He’s also receiving terrifying visions of pirates who were hung in the town around two hundred years ago and, even more frightening, he knows that one of the men in these visions recognises him. Top that off with a wild storm that is disturbing shipwrecks on the sea floor and is raising the spiritual energy all around them and this is an action packed book. I love how the secondary characters are being brought into the series more and more so that they can support Simon and Vic, they’re such great characters. And of course I adore Simon and Vic and the love they have for each other and the strength they bring each other. Amazing book and I really hope there are more to come in the series! The narrator does an amazing job of bringing the characters and atmosphere to life in this series. He really is a perfect match for these books. I received an arc of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review

Another amazing story! One thing I love about these story is how Morgan Brice has taken ghost stories and combined them into a real world situations. Vic and Simon are back at in again. The mystery of this story just kept my attention and I just couldn't stop. Kale Williams also does another amazing job in bring this story to life. I can't get over how much I love this book even more.

Boy this was a scary one. In this one we have pirates! Apparently a long time ago, we had the hanging of some pirates who were captured after their ship was scuttled. During a storm, their ship has been pushed up from the deep seas closer to shore. And of course with that, we have ghosts. There are more then one bad ghost running around. There is also a rash of murders that may be related to the ghosts. While trying to figure out who is doing the killings and what the ghosts want, there is a major storm brewing. What almost happened to Vic had me screaming out loud "Simon do something", it was totally terrifying. We get to meet an ancestor of Simon's who is of great help in battling the bad ghosts as well as a new person joining Simon's crew. On top of all of this, Simon & Vic are working on settling into living together. I hope there will be more books in this series as I love these two. I really love this book, and I'm pretty sure this will become one of my favourite series. The characters are so well-drawn, so easy to understand. The plot is simply great. I'm not a fan of pirates, at all, and yet, I was absorbed in this story from the beginning. The references to the Revolutionary War, the vengeful ghost... fantastic! And Vic and Simon are that kind of character that you simply adore. They are both getting set in their lives together, and they are doing it drama-free. The conflict is extern, and I love it, I love how they fit together so smoothly. Entertaining, full of suspense and original, what else could you ask? So, yes, definitively, a series that I gladly will keep reading.
