Summary
UNABRIDGED AND AVAILABLE ON AUDIO FOR THE FIRST TIME

Simone de Beauvoir’s essential masterwork is a powerful analysis of the Western notion of “woman,” and a revolutionary exploration of inequality and otherness. This unabridged edition of the text reinstates significant portions of the original French text that were cut in the first English translation, and is now available on audio for the very first time. Vital and groundbreaking, Beauvoir’s pioneering and impressive text remains as pertinent today as when it was first published, and will continue to provoke and inspire generations of men and women to come.

I don't agree with all that Simone says in this book but most of it is true for women in every culture and time so far. This study can well be called Das Capital on Feminism. It changed my mind on Woman. The beauty of it lies in Simone strong logical arguments on Sociological, psychological, biological, philosophical, political, theological, art, literature and showbiz grounds to make a case of woman. I believe, every woman should read this book like scriptures. In it lies their salvation and freedom from womanhood. I wish I get it translated in Urdu and Pashto for Indian subcontinent women. This is Liberating Bible for women.

A classic book that kicked off the feminist movement in the 1940s, yet it is still so relevant today! The full translation of the original text was wonderful to enjoy in its entirety and the narrators were great too.
