Unabridged Audiobook
This is an outstanding book. A clear, well argued and insicive expose of an evil strategie that has at its heart the corruption of the very Gospel itself. Some of the examples reflected in this book are jaw dropping in their shameless audacity. What I found particularly blood boiling is the lack of contrition these leaders and organizations have shown when these errors are on full display and have been shown as errors. We really do need to get a back bone and "contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people."Well done Megan Basham
Very good book. Very informative. Very biblical. The author kept my attention. The last part when she shared her testimony was great! I'm hoping and praying things get better in the Body of Christ and in the church. I'm sorry to learn about all the compromise and wolves. I'm grateful for Megan Basham bringing attention to it. I thank God for faithful members of the Body who will sound the alarm even when it means they will get heat from it.
I'm glad I came across Shephaerds For Sale. Although I spent most of my time cringing while listening to the book's content, I believe it helped explain what I've personally experienced in my one of the churches I once attended. I, too, was wondering why Rick Warren was not only attending the WEF, but had taken a leadership position with it. Contrary to what another reivewer states, I have personally talked to memebers from some of the California churches mentioned in this book and can verify that leftest agendas are alive and well. It also hightlights why a family member of mine lost their faith from being deconstructed at Azusa Pacific University. This is not a "feel-good" book, but rather, a "must-read" for anyone who wants to be vigilant in perserving their church from being woke.
A very important book that highlights areas where the American Church has been sleeping. This reminder that Satan works tirelessly to destroy the Church was a much needed reminder. I also appreciate the highlighting of many leaders who have fallen into error. I would recommend this as a must read for any serious Christian.
I am appalled at the lack of integrity of both the author and the publisher, which is the lesser of many evils in this book. Ms Basham(no pun intended...)has stated multiple times throughout this book things that are simply not true as well as taken out of context. This leads me to believe she didn't use due diligence in her research before saying such things about multiple ppl. A pre-teen could fact check some of her claims and find them to be untrue. The church in America(largely)is already divided and while the responsibility lies most often in the pulpits, bombastic claims such as those in this book, certainly contribute to the ever deteriorating condition of the church at a time in our nation when we've never needed unity more. We are to call out/confront evil according to the Bible but bc God knew we'd need specific instructions(Ms Basham is a great example), He gave them in Matthew 18. Mr Eric Metaxis wrote a general book, Letter to the American Church and left the work to the Holy Spirit in each person/ pastor/teacher. In this book, while I understand there are indeed some "shepherds for sale ", there are MANY named who absolutely are not. The irony that the focus is church leaders are in it(ie, political arena, etc)for the money, is not lost on the fact that Ms Basham seems to be doing the very same thing in the writing of this book, making $...
