Summary
First published in 1962, Silent Spring can singlehandedly be credited with sounding the alarm and raising awareness of humankind's collective impact on its own future through chemical pollution. No other book has so strongly influenced the environmental conscience of Americans and the world at large. 'Silent Spring came as a cry in the wilderness, a deeply felt, thoroughly researched, and brilliantly written argument that changed the course of history.'-Vice President Al Gore

Sadly as timely and as relevant today as when first published, this is a sobering read, beautifully presented.

Worth listening to or re-listening to, taking heed to be mindful that we ARE living the results of the damages of our past practices.

The narration was good, but the subject matter is amazing! I don't know why this isn't required reading to earn a science degree. We need a Rachel Carson to help define the PFAS delimma, so we'll be able to soberly address how to resolve it.

Gloom and Doom Overload, but unfortunately very accurate.

I read "the lies of Rachel Carson" and listened to listened to this book. some of her evidence is probably a bit bias and some stories don't have a lot of evidential value, but she provides a great narration of the way in which we poison our world, have ignored long-term effects, and continue to be selfish in our domination of all life. she provides non chemical solutions and wants a world in which we control pests, but do some by helping nature, not attacking it with brute force.

So relevant, was this really sixty years ago? We are still basing our decisions on Science funded by chemical and pharmaceutical industries, we need a new Paradigm.

Lies churned up after decades of being debunked. Read "The Lies of Rachel Carson" .... falls into ‘if we knew then what we know now’!!! .... technology and evidence evolve .... WHY should we cling onto unsubstantiated claims, while malaria claims millions of lives
