Summary
An Amazon Charts and USA Today bestseller.

Gina Royal is the definition of average—a shy Midwestern housewife with a happy marriage and two adorable children. But when a car accident reveals her husband’s secret life as a serial killer, she must remake herself as Gwen Proctor—the ultimate warrior mom.

With her ex now in prison, Gwen has finally found refuge in a new home on remote Stillhouse Lake. Though still the target of stalkers and Internet trolls who think she had something to do with her husband’s crimes, Gwen dares to think her kids can finally grow up in peace.

But just when she’s starting to feel at ease in her new identity, a body turns up in the lake—and threatening letters start arriving from an all-too-familiar address. Gwen Proctor must keep friends close and enemies at bay to avoid being exposed—or watch her kids fall victim to a killer who takes pleasure in tormenting her. One thing is certain: she’s learned how to fight evil. And she’ll never stop.

This book was absolutely amazing thriller loved every second. Just found a new favorite author.

This book was suspenseful and engaging, but perhaps a tad predictable. Although the narrator had a lovely voice, her cadence was robotic at times which distracted me. Overall, I recommend this book.

Loved this book. Not sophisticated or a master piece. Easy listening and fast moving. Listened to whole series. Great escape.

Horrific story of a normal life turned completely upside down! I can't help but think that the next one is only going to be about everyone chasing each other, but I'll give it a go.

I forced myself to keep listening because I can't bear the news anymore and I had no back-up book. But in real life I would not have bothered. I should not have bothered. If your idea of a good book is woman and kids in danger at all times, continuous belly button gazing, and an author that writes like they are being paid by the word, perhaps you could do it. I only gave it two stars because I was able to finish the book having only skipped forward on only three or four tracts.

It was a little too dark for me, I’d prefer more balance against the horror elements. It was gripping, but I don’t think I’ll choose another from this author. That being said, it was well written.

I enjoyed the book very much. It kept me suspensefully not wanting to take a break. I am looking forward to books 2 and 3.

Really enjoyed this book. The story line was convincing and I enjoyed the suspense and red herrings. I have already purchased the sequel which I’m enjoying too.

The book was great, but I had a hard time enjoying it because of the narrator. I completely missed any sarcasm, jokes, or panic that would've been natural to the characters because the narrator's voice was very flat and monotone. She does a good job speaking clearly, but would be better off reading a newspaper article to you than a book. I recommend buying the book, but do not buy the audiobook.

This book is pure trash. Embarrassing stereotypes, wooden puppet dialogue, repetitive narrative; it was written to be made into a film, and I wouldn't even wait for the film.
