Summary
To the outside world, Electra D'ApliEse seems to be the woman with everything: as one of the world's top models, she is beautiful, rich and famous.

Yet beneath the veneer, Electra's already tenuous control over her state of mind has been rocked by the death of her father, Pa Salt, the elusive billionaire who adopted his six daughters from across the globe. Struggling to cope, she turns to alcohol and drugs. As those around her fear for her health, Electra receives a letter from a complete stranger who claims to be her grandmother . . .

In 1939, Cecily Huntley-Morgan arrives in Kenya from New York to nurse a broken heart. Staying with her godmother, a member of the infamous Happy Valley set, on the shores of beautiful Lake Naivasha, she meets Bill Forsythe, a notorious bachelor and cattle farmer with close connections to the proud Maasai tribe. But after a shocking discovery and with war looming, Cecily has few options. Moving up into the Wanjohi Valley, she is isolated and alone. Until she meets a young woman in the woods and makes her a promise that will change the course of her life for ever. . . .

Sweeping from Manhattan to the magnificent wide-open plains of Africa, The Sun Sister is the sixth instalment in Lucinda Riley's multi-million selling epic series, The Seven Sisters.

I love this series of books just about to start the missing sister.

Having listened to the other books in this series I was surprised to hear the narrator’s accent. I understand that Electra had Kenyan blood but she was as adopted at birth and grew up with her sisters who would have all developed the same accents. I got used to it though! And I did really enjoy the story.

Love Lucinda Riley and the story that for each sister differs. Narrators accents initially took a while to adjust to, but suited the character.

I am a big fan of the Seven Sisters series but this book was unfortunately my least favourite one, and the narrators weren't great either.

I enjoyed the previous five books but this one was like reading two Mills and Boon books in one and then I realised all six of the books are like that.

This was my least favorite of all the stories so far. I really hope the 7th book has a better narrator and storyline that's relevant to the character. Electra was really hard to like at all. And while the author tried to make it seem like she turned over a new leaf it was hard to buy. Maybe it was because the narrator was so bland and lifeless.

Very disappointing, the story bogged in useless detail and the narration was dreadful. Her voice, cadence, and rhythm were all hard to listen through. I had a hard time making it through the book.

I found the sound quality at the beginning of the book dreadful. Not very well narrated at all. It’s a shame as I have enjoyed all the other books in this series really good. Disappointing

The narrators for the previous books in this series were wonderful. This one is horrible. Doesn't even match the rest of the series. Her voice is so bad I'm finding myself having a hard time getting through the book, which is disappointing since the other 5 were wonderful stories. It's not the book - it's the narration....

The series was great up until this book. This story of Electra was my least favorite of this series, far too lengthy with so much of the storyline being irrelevant to it’s title character. Even ‘Electra’ was irritated by the length of the storyline and the majority of it’s irrelevance to her. But I digress. As far as the person reading Electra’s part - she’s one of the worst I’ve experienced with an audio book, it was all I could do to not turn it off - that’s a first for me - I’m just glad I was able to push through. Now to find out about the seventh sister. Let’s hope this storyline is more interesting, not too long, and read by a much better narrator.
