Summary
A powerfully moving novel of love, loss, hope, and family from bestselling author James Patterson.
Katie Wilkinson has found her perfect man at last. He's a writer, a house painter, an original thinker - everything she's imagined she wanted in a partner. But one day, without explanation, he disappears from her life, leaving behind only a diary for her to read.
This diary is a love letter written by a new mother named Suzanne for her baby son, Nicholas. In it she pours out her heart about how she and the boy's father met, about her hopes for marriage and family, and about the unparalleled joy that having a baby has brought into her life.
As Katie reads this touching document, it becomes clear that the lover who has just left her is the husband and father in this young family. She reads on, filled with terror and hope, as she struggles to understand what has happened.
Written with James Patterson's perfect pitch for emotion and suspense, Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas captures beautifully the joys of a new family even as it builds to an overwhelmingly moving climax. This is an unforgettable love story, at once heartbreaking and full of hope.

The book was a bit underwhelming. I am thinking this would be better to read instead of listen. The narrator was great, however.

An enjoyable listen. It's engaging even though the syrupy sweet content and narration are annoying at times.

Totally awesome book. If you know James Pattersons work, you will LOVE this story! Sweet, some parts sad, but in the end, it's just heartfelt... Enjoy!

James Patterson is such a great writer; makes you feel his characters' emotions as well as your own. Sad but uplifting story that does have a bittersweet ending.

A different style of writing than I expected from James Patterson, but a very good book. I could not recover and move on like Matt did if that happened to me. Suzanne's diary made her seem like someone I would love to be friends with.

Heartwarming story and a good ending but not exciting. I'm used to thrillers and this was too mild for me.

This was a very touching book and reminds me of a Nicholas Sparks novel. I thought it was very well written and read. Wished it had been a little longer but still a good book.

This was totally out of step with what I was used to James Patterson writting. It is a beautiful story of love and devotion; bittersweet and heartbreaking and wonderfully warm.

What an endearing book -- especially from an author who is more known for his thriller/action selections. I bought the book for my Mom as a gift.

I enjoyed the suspense and emotion of this novel, but I found myself yawning and getting bored at times. The diary, written about Suzanne's life and son, is repetitive and overly sentimental. It was not an awful read, but not one of my favorites either.

I was perplexed at other reviews that raved over the book. While it was written creatively, going back and forth between characters, the story was a little sappy. Perhaps I am not so much of a romantic. It seemed a little far fetched to have characters so perfect. I guess people's perspectives are formed from their own lives. I have a happy marriage and three children and could relate to the love of a child, the loss of a child and even meeting the love of your life; but somehow it seemed so "movie of the week-ish." I thought the narrator did an excellent job. Who is this Becky Baker? I would like to know more about her and the work she does. Her accents and inflections and tones of voice were perfect.

This is absolutely one of the best books I have ever read. My mother gave it to me, and it has since made its way through every family member and friend that we know. It is a beautiful story and masterfully written.

I enjoyed this book, even though it made me a little sad. This was not one of your typical James Patterson books.

A truly great work that keep you glued to every word once you are drawn into the story. The author manages to engage all of your emotions and come out with a happy ending. A perfect companion to " Sam's Letters to Jennifer "
