Unabridged Audiobook
Utterly charming use of the English language. The more words Williams crammed into a sentence the better it became. One of the best artistic uses of a run on sentence I ever read/heard. Remarkable description of Irishness. I was transported back to Galway wandering the peat bogs.
Very evocative of a bygone age.
wonderful descriptions and characters that make a quiet simple story so memorable.
I really wanted to love this, because the other reviews made it sound amazing. But, it wasn’t the book for me. It felt a little too jumbled and in cohesive. Story telling from a grand parent- excessive/irrelevant detail, long winded, but touching. Sentence to sentence, it was beautifully written. But all together, it felt a mess.
