Really enjoyed the characters and the story, but what made it memorable was the narrator and his ability to suck you into the moment, the craziness, the sadness and the jubilation!

I liked the narrator and his ability to adapy is voice to the particular characters. The story created an empathetic feeling within me regarding the racial unrest that still exists in our society today.

Grisham is such a good storyteller. And the narrator is fantastic.

I throughly enjoyed this book. Could not wait to drive in to work - go to lunch nor drive home to get back to listening to it. Grisham tells such a good story. Really captivated you from the first paragraph. I did NOT like the use of the “N” word despite his likely reason of authenticity. It was over used and unnecessary in my view to tell the story. Another appropriate term should have been used.
