Really good book, it is amazing story.
It starts out slow and you get brief periods of action seperated by long periods of slow boring listening. It’s as if the authors sometimes look for stuff to write to fill up space. Towards the end it starts to pickup and becomes a good read. But if you want a book that holds your attention all the way through, this isn’t it.
I was really looking forward to this audiobook and want to be positive in reviewing. I however found this to be among the worst of the recent Tom Clancy books. The plot is pretty linear and at times confusing and for large swathes of the book, seemingly nothing happened. Often I found myself drifting away when listening to the book, which has never happened to me listening to audiobooks before. I actually started looking forward to getting to the end so I can get onto the next book.
Overall I think I was just sad that the plot didn’t really offer anything new other than the final ‘twist’ of how a weapon was going to be used. I really hope the standard of writing improves, going forward or I wonder if the Tom Clancy series might be past it’s prime...
The oration was great though!
