Summary
Master storyteller Stephen King presents the classic, terrifying #1 New York Times bestseller about a terrifying otherworldly discovery and the effects it has a on a small town.

“Late last night and the night before, Tommyknockers, Tommyknockers, knocking at the door…”

On a beautiful June day, while walking deep in the woods on her property in Haven, Maine, Bobbi Anderson quite literally stumbles over her own destiny and that of the entire town. For the dull gray metal protrusion she discovers in the ground is part of a mysterious and massive metal object, one that may have been buried there for millennia. Bobbi can’t help but become obsessed and try to dig it out…the consequences of which will affect and transmute every citizen of Haven, young and old. It means unleashing extraordinary powers beyond those of mere mortals—and certain death for any and all outsiders. An alien hell has now invaded this small New England town…an aggressive and violent malignancy devoid of any mercy or sanity…

The Tommyknockers is not representative of King's best work. King acknowledged this himself. There is much subtext on the devastation of addictions. It's a fairly good story, narrated very well, that runs too long.

Classic King. This is probably the fifth time reading this book. Epic story teller and writer of weird. In a time when everything and everyone is on the verge of alien abduction this book hits hard. Beam me up Tommyknockers. Beam me up.

8 hours in and it’s a drag. So boring. Mostly nonsense rambling. Waste of time and money

Great narration. The book itself wasn't for me, very long winded and rambling at times. Took me over a year to finish because it just couldn't hold my attention.

Very good book and an excellent narrator. I love how King intertwines many of his stories, even though each story stands alone. It’s a nice touch he adds. In this one there are clear references to It. As is the case with many other King novels, the story pulls you in and you’ll find yourself anxious to see what happens next.

I enjoyed this one, imagery is vivid and the story rolls along nicely. Narrator does a great job.

Excellent book, I only ever watched the miniseries with my mom years ago. So much I didn't understand about the movie that I get now after reading the book. It also holds a special place in my heart now that my mother passed.. late last night and the night before, Tommy knockers Tommy knockers knocking at the door.
