I wish they hadn’t changed the narrator for the last book as it took a while to get used to. He was not as bad as other reviewers stated but definitely the weak link in this otherwise solid audiobook.

Great book. Terrible narrator. The Charles Hayden series is fantastic, but they chose a terrible narrator for this book. My advice is to listen to the first three books then just read this one.

If you've listened to the previous installments narrated by Simon Vance and Nick Boulton, well let me tell you....prepare yourself for prissy, aristocratic Charles Saunders Hayden. And also whispering, FOLLOWED BY UNBEARABLE YELLING, and then more inaudible whispering. Also, all the foreigners are played by the same person. And all the English are Simon Vance's Landry. Seriously...the greatest tragedy of this novel was that they allowed Daniel Philpott to narrate it.
