Love and loyalty run deeper than blood. St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. . . .

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

I’ve read this whole series and just wanted to listen to them while commuting. It’s a great story and Richelle is an amazing author, I own a lot of her books. The narrator however is awful, which is maybe why they used someone else on the next book. Many of her voices she used were nasal sounding.

I love reading vampire academy. Its on of my favorite vampire books. Rose is my favorite character of the book. I like how she fearless and how she would do anything to be her best friend guardian.

I love the book, I read it before the show ever started as a teen, but now all my “books” are audiobooks. They narrator was great for the girl voices and even some of the primary male character, but once you got to the supporting characters males , she made them sound like short , round, snotty nosed jerks. That’s definitely not how I envisioned them when I read the books.

The book is great, but the narrator is terrible. Her voice is SO high pitched and she sounds like she has a perpetual cold. The main character, Rose, seems so airy and arrogant compared to what I believe the author meant for her personality to be, strong willed and intelligent. BUT this is just my opinion of course. The storyline is great.

I absolutely love the Vampire Academy series!!! I’ve reread all of the books over 8 times during the past 12 years. Richelle Mead is my favorite author! However, this is the first time I’ve heard the audiobook and am highly disappointed with the narrator. Her narration for most all of the men sounds ridiculous, and her voice for Lisa sounds child-like. I had such high hopes for this since it’s the first book of my all-time favorite series, but am depressed to say it did not get the quality narration it deserves.
