Unabridged Audiobook
Really liked this story and narrator! Well worth my credit!
I don’t know about the rest of the readers out there, but I have a very serious screening process for choosing what I’m going to read next. First, I assess my mood. Then I think about what books I’ve heard about lately and read the blurbs, and from there I read my friend’s reviews. Well, sometimes even after all that I can’t decide and I resort to a random game of eeney meeney miney moe. That’s how I chose The Vincent Boys. I hadn’t read the blurb or a single review. I remembered seeing it once before and I’ve heard of Abbi Glines, so I chose this one at random. I’m glad I did because there are a few things that would’ve kept me from reading this book if I’d known what it was about, and I ended up really loving it. I had no idea that the book was Young Adult, and I tend to shy away from those books. This one was actually pretty good—and I listened to the extended version so it was steamy too. What I liked about Vincent Boys was the maturity of the heroine. Yes, she makes some stupid mistakes, but she owns up to them and faces the consequences without passing the blame. She went through some emotional turmoil which helped me understand why she did what she did, but she realized it was wrong and tried to make it right. Ashton’s selflessness in the end is ultimately what helped me accept the love triangle as well. Normally, I hate love triangles. I always want to smack the cheater. I don’t know exactly why I was okay with Abbi Glines’ love triangle, but I was. Aside from a few small things, it didn’t bother me. Overall, the characters were likeable, I understood their motivations, and some parts even made me tear up. I enjoyed the book and I am going straight into the next book to see what happens with Sawyer, he needs a happily ever after too.
Great book some parts are strung out a tad, other than that it is very well written!
