I was legitimately surprised by the quality of the two books/productions in this series. I’m typically wary of audiobooks without ratings, but bought these on a two-for-one deal. I’ve purchased audiobooks in the past with a low number of ratings and almost always wished I’d have gone with more popular titles. Not so with these. Part one starts out a little overwhelming with the amount of sound effects and environmental noise so it took me 3-4 times starting it over before I was literally hooked and listened to the whole thing while working. The writing has a good balance of emotion, monsters, action and romance to make them seriously entertaining and engaging. The characters and settings gave me a sense of connection with them and having multiple voice actors with quality background music and ambient sounds makes for a truly worthwhile listen.
