I am not a reader by any means of the definition, but I have become a fan of listening to my favorite Hollywood Celebrities read their books. Gabrielle Union has been one of my favorites since before Bring It On. Just hearing her take on the world, how she "disappears" when her emotions get the best of her and just hearing her be human (relatable), while making mistakes has made me love her even more! I have started her next book and I am excited to learn and connect with her even more.

Amazing so authentic and personal and real honesty loved the way Gabrielle tells her story so much resilience, love the humour too!

I laughed, I cried, I learned through beautifully told stories of vulnerability and strength.

There were times I had to pause just to laugh. This book had its funny moment but there are also some serious and moving life issues she addresses too. Lovely book and I'm on to hear her next one.

Gabrielle’s self-discovery is revelatory. I enjoyed her frank, raw language, her insights into Black Hollywood, and her open discussion of her infertility. In summary, she is, with the exception of her star status, like all women of color. We struggle, we survive. The unflattering aspect of her memoir was the discussion of her friend’s breast cancer. The story revolves, not around the woman, but on how her cancer diagnosis made Gabrielle feel. Sometimes ego can eclipse the most poignant moments and leave a sour note.

Soooooooooooooooooooo good. I could NOT put this book down. Gabrielle chats with you like she’s your girlfriend. I laughed, cried, learned and was challenged. Highly recommend and very entertaining.

I like that she narrated the book. It was well written and easy to get through. I feel like she is more fun than I expected her to be.

This was such a good read. Gabrielle's candid and humble account of her personal journey had me completely engrossed. I listened to the audio version and she is such a good story teller. I have a lot of respect for her as a woman with some of the same fears and insecurities as most women. And her story of the growth and transformation as a human being is inspiring. I truly enjoyed her story and have shared it with all my girlfriends.

Gabrielle does great at narrating. I’ve listened to this book 3 times and enjoy it each time.

This book was refreshing! Gabrielle reminds us that she too is flawed, and that it’s okay to be raw! As a step mother myself I love that she divulged into the nitty gritty details that no one wants to talk about it this role, bravo Gabrielle!

I enjoyed this immensely. A very real read that will have you laughing, nodding your head in agreement with an “oh yeah” to follow and getting all up in your feelings right along with the narrator. Didn’t want the book to end.

Great read, but you can't be squimish or listen with your kids in the car!! I laughed out loud and talking back when she talked about what it's like being a black woman and having those talks with our black sons. So many experiences of my life, as a black girl raised in a white environment, that I completely related to. Gret read, Nikki!!!

I learned a lot about Gabriel Union from reading this book. Great book but it’s not in order. In other words it’s in female style. She jumps around in the book a lot just like us females when we’re telling a story

I went through it twice in two days, and feel like repeating over and over. I am not sure if it is the impact and authenticity of GU's voice or the rawness of the story, but it is worth every cent. I hope this is not her last book.

One of the BEST books I’ve read/listened to in a long time. “NIKKI” made you feel like you were in her living room sharing a glass of Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California. Listening to her made me laugh, cry, sob, feel empowered, strong , uplifted and so much more. Her writing is raw, authentic, intelligent, street savvy and pure. I swear she and I were separated at birth! I hope she writes More she is the new millennium Oprah!
