Unabridged Audiobook
A Challenge to Honest Scholarship, Zacharias provokes the reader to set aside contemporary notions of both Eastern religion and Christianity and to investigate and contrast both the New Spirituality of Eastern popularizers and the teaching of Jesus. His conclusion is that only Jesus brings real understanding of the human condition, and only He offers hope for humanity. This hope is in the form of a personal relationship with God. Zacharias' arguments are logical and his illustrations are pertinent. The book prompted me to a more intense study of Scripture.
I found it difficult to listen to this book as I found the author's tone very condesending and focused the most on criticizing other beliefs and spiritual leaders and the least talking about Why Jesus. The ironic thing for me was that the spiritual leaders that were criticized are the individuals that helped me get closer to Jesus.
